Sweet! We're gonna score two goals? That's a feat right now.

Compliments of the Ribeironator. I guess the guy might as well do some stat padding to earn that contract of his.

O and I'm so predicting that Sydor coughs up the puck that leads directly to the San Jose game winning goal.

Just sayin.

What are the chances if the Stars lose Jackson finally realizes this team won't be in the running for any hardware and starts selling?

Unfortunately, I fear Alistar is correct. We'll be quiet tomorrow.

How many games do we need to win to be able to make playoffs.

You're always the pessimist, though in this case I agree.

pessimist = realist

potato = potatoe

Don't blame me because I've been more right about this team lately than most others.

I like my cup to be whatever it actually is. Just give me the truth. I don't want it sugar coated.

If they were playing Colorado, Atlanta, NY Islanders, ect., there would be a slight, slight chance.

San Jose has a built in excuse. They're the best team in the West, and "Dallas could put up a good effort".

He'd never look at a loss to this team as a step back unless San Jose spanks them like Dallas did to NY. Even then I wouldn't count on it.

I bet Dallas does something minor. It could be just a minor waiver pick up though. There's a ton of guys floating out there for free right now.

They could pick up Morrison or Satan but really are either truly going to help? It's not my money but it just seems like that would be a complete waste.

Wouldn't be a waste at all if said player is the difference between a playoff spot and an early exit.

Playoff rentals sit much better with me when you don't give up a single asset for them, besides whatever little salary is involved.

I very much expect the Stars to at LEAST pick up one of today's waiver casualties, at the very least.

Modo,

I agree with your point, but disagree with the outcome. Morrison couldn't effectively center Selanne or Bobby Ryan at times this year. What makes anyone think he's going to help this offense? Satan is a winger, again Dallas needs someone to distribute the puck.

I just see this team right now needing more than what one player like Morrison could do to help them so picking them up would in fact be a waste. If Dallas is going to miss the playoffs, miss big.

Too late. As it stands now, they're 3 pts up on the Leafs and tied with the Wild, with the 10th fewest amount of pts in the league. They're nowhere near bad enough to fall into the bottom 5 (Avs with 57 pts and in full sell mode).

So either they miss the playoffs and pick 10th-14th, or make the playoffs and, probably, pick 16-20th.

I vote for the latter.

Dallas if it keeps going like this they are very likely a top ten draft pick. Right now I think St. Louis will pass them, as will Los Angeles. Then it's just a matter of who's worse down the stretch, Toronto, Ottawa or Dallas. That's going to depend on what the three teams do tomorrow.

If they don't do something big they're more likely to finish 6-10th than 10-15th. Those other teams around them in the standings will improve themselves and Dallas' schedule down the stretch won't help.

When the team has lost so many games in a row, it feels like they're never going to win again.
