Why not?

First off, if Bergeron didn't take some sort of discount I'd be very surprised.
Second of all, Savard will probably be gone, paving the way for #1 Center, Bergeron.

I've been saying for months that if Pronger goes to Boston Bergeron would be the centerpiece. Prove me right Murray!

I certainly can say that.

Claude must think so as well.

Nice backtracking, ericnut. You were proved wrong on the Pahlsson issue, and that's your response?

He hasn't developed into a better center than Bergeron.

Bergeron plays stronger across all three zones is better on key faceoffs and when healthy (like he's become) is more consistent. He's less than a year older than Krecji to boot.

I don't like this. I LOVE the Pronger idea more than anyone. But it's Bergie man. Don't trade him. Please. I don't know who I'm talking to lol.

First off, I highly doubt Savard will be gone in two years. There is a chance, but I see the Bruins resigning him. Secon,d Bergeron is locked up for two more years. He can't take a home town discount.

Hypothetical, say Bergy Stuart 1st and Lashoff for Pronger and Pahlsson

Lucic-Savard-Kessel
Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder
Pahlsson-X-Kobasew
Axlesson-Yelle-Thornton

Chara-Ward
Pronger-Wideman
Ference-Hunwick

Thomas
MFMF

Maybe trade a pick and prospect for a Weight or something, try and snag a decent center.

With what cap space? That's a 2-line team and if the 2nd line keeps struggling, you can say goodnight after 5 games in the 1st round.

What he said. The "current" Bergeron is better than the "current" Krejci. Going forward I probably take DK, but Bergie is no slouch and I could see how some take him based on his D game. I don't buy the DK is a great defender thought. Bergie is a whole different level of physical.

I'm done with this thread. The Bruins should trade Bergeron for Pronger, and the Ducks should consider it depending on the +. Bergeron is a great player, but he has had two concussions.

Go Ducks!

4.75+1.3= 6.05

6.25+1.4=7.65

1.60 million added...and we have 4 million in cap room....

Oops. I thought they ended the same season.

Either way, Savard's contract ends after next season. If Bergeron and Krejci are both scoring 70-80 points, and Sobotka/Hamill are showing promise I'd be very surprised to see Savvy back.

I wouldn't be so quick to say all that. Did you see our D? Now imagine our PP. We are MUCH better in some regards. Worse in some others.

krejci granted hasnt played well lately i said that before. bergeron is a better d forward, but krejci has better vision for passing lanes, and contributes a ton more to offensive part of game.
