After hearing Antropov and Moore were for sure on the block, I was hoping for more than that. But now, I'm just hoping those get done.

Ah the life of a Leafs fan. Always settle for less, and hope for the impossible.

It would be hilarious if all that Burke managed today was the Gerber thing. And that he decided to just resign More and antro because if he got rid of them he would just have to replace them this summer. And that they are happy in TO of course

so we're back........

honestly if you think of it in terms of the Leafs current prospects and that Stefanovich was a 4th round pick and pretty much in the top 5 of the teams prospects

two 2nds and a 4th is a pretty solid addition to the help build up the system

We got two 2nd round picks, and lost Toskala for the season. I'm satisfied for now.

Hahah. I think the forum reacted to the suggestion of reaching 1000 posts before the leafs made any deals.

As for the trades. Just about what was expected with Moore, and Antropov. The Kolzig salary dump deal was interesting. A bit disappointed to see we've kept Poni, but it's okay. The off-season will be interesting.

Burkie did exactly what he said he was going to do. Told everyone not to expect the firesale that they were all hoping for, so I don't see a reason for people to be upset (haven't seen anyone here, but a few of my friends are flipping out because of what little moves we made today).

The man doesn't just spew BS in these interviews he gives. I can't wait to see how people react when he doesn't trade Kaberle/Kubina.

Am I the only one having problems trying to watch the Burke presser off the Leaf site? Anyone have it youtubed, couldn't find it there either.

Was a classic Burke presser, good viewing.

Well, I think this closes the books on Fletchs tenure here. I can't help but to rate his time here as an epic fail.

All those draft picks for, Mayers,Holweg,Grabo. I'm not even sold on the moving up in the draft anymore. It looks like 2nd/3rds are back to being a premium.

Spending 3.5m on a 4/5 Dman? just nuts.

Steen,Coli for Stemp? I can't help but see that trade as a fail.

Why the heck is Joseph here? glorified PR move?

I saw this in the Star today.

Quote:
He also didn't take on any additional contracts that carry into next season, so he should have about $17 million (all figures U.S.) to spend this summer even though he already has 16 players under contract. That should allow for some quick rebuilding either through free agency or the ability to trade for contracts.

"We're positioned well from a cap standpoint. I think you folks know I'm not big on doing nothing. We intend to be aggressive this summer on a lot of different fronts," Burke said.
That's all I wanted to hear.

Go Burke Go.
