Now, I never do trade proposals, but I'm tired and bored and our systems are down at work so here we go.

Deal 1:
To OTT:
Pascal Leclaire

To CBJ:
Antoine Vermette

Deal 2:

To VAN:
Colorado's 4th Round Draft Pick 2009
San Jose's 6th Round Draft Pick 2009

To CBJ:
Curtis Sanford
Mike Brown

Would this work? What would be needed to balance these deals out?

At the moment, Ottawa has 3 goaltenders on it's NHL roster. They're definitely not looking to add a 4th. In fact, they probably want to move Gerber for nothing.

I was under the impression that Gerber was on his way out and they could use a starting goaltender with potential to be a #1 goalie for a few years until Elliott is ready.

How about just Sanford for a 6th round pick?

Haha, sure.

Earlier in the year Vancouver radio reported Howson interested in Mike Brown. Figured with all the injuries to the roster now might be a good time for Ottawa to deal a spare draft pick to grab him. A fourth might be too high.

Management is hoping Elliott will be ready for next year, shown by the fact they brought him up and are planning on starting him for a while now. It would be a split between him and Auld next year. No sense in having 3 goalies under contract for next year.

Auld is under contract next season and the impression Murray has been giving is that he wants Elliott to either back him up or start half the games next year. I don't think we're in the market for a goaltender, especially now since were trying to tank... Or at least the fans hope.

Right, by completely missing a 2nd round draft pick in a very deep draft....

Nice work.

A) He has the right to "prove he is right." Especially when there were 50 thousand others horribly off.

B) You joined October 2008. That would make this your first trading deadline here. Yet you say "I freaking HATE" when people do this, as if you have experienced this multiple times. Also, being that you are relatively new to this site, what the hell makes you able to say what is and isn't acceptable on the site?

I freaking HATE when people try to become forum mediator even though he/she are newer than 90% of the members here.
