Could Reitz be moved to forward and play on the 4th line?

Nice

More minor leaguers

So whats Burke's plan?

Reitz is basically a piece of crap and Gerber is a minor leaguer at best

If Gerber is was acquired for the tank why not just stick with Joseph? He stinks with the best of them.

I'm guessing Kaberle's hand injury will keep him out a while instead and Burke was looking for depth... Was checking out the NYR forums, and fans for the most part seemed to like him... nothing special, but an effective 6th defenseman is the general consensus from their fans.

Nothing to make a big deal of, Leafs need a goalie now that Toskala is done. If anything the tankers should be happy.

With Toskala being shut down for the year, the Gerber move makes more sense.

Watch Gerber go on a friggin run. He is as hot & cold as they come. Might be his last shot to prove he can play. Although if he plays like he played in Ottawa...could help us in the long run with the tank & help us return to the 4th-7th range.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe he doesn't want to screw up his career stats too bad

OMG Burke....my faith in you is declining. Getting Gerber makes NO sense.
1) Gerber is not that bad of a goalie. He'll probably get around a .900 save pct with us. That neither helps or prevents our tank. We remain the status quo which gets us nowhere.
2) We should play CUJO. Why? 2 reasons:
- Cujo would help us tank
- Playing Cujo will probably help his numbers this season so his season here is not a total embarassment. Playing backup and starting here and there does not help to bring your A-game. If you played most of the games remaining, he'd start to get into his groove again helping his numbers and at the same time we'll probably lose more then with Gerber
3) Gerber can easily get back to his elite form. After being put on waivers, he's gonna want to prove to everyone he's still got it...not good.

It looks like Antropov is moved or the trade is in place, but not looking good for Moore.
