The best thing about this trade is we will no longer have to see Sully make the same $&^WW^%W move on shoot-outs.

O'Sullivan must be a happy man this morning - he held out a long time before signing (for actually accomplishing very little on the ice), then gets rewarded by getting out of town.

Williams' injury history should be a big concern (Demitra anyone?). Couldn't the 2nd rd pick have been conditional on how many games Williams actually plays?

I'm not a huge fan of this trade, but POS hasn't really been lighting anything up anyway, so....

And finally, when is young forward going to get traded to L.A. and start scoring here, like Jokinen and Blake?

He'll probably struggle as much as Rob Blake, Mike Cammallerri and Lubo had before his season ending injury.

Off topic, but out of curiosity, how many of us lawyers are on this site? I know myself and Zad are. I also know that Rainer has a law degree...

The top nine of your 2009-2010 Los Angeles Kings:

Frolov-Kopitar-Gaborik
Williams-Stoll-Brown
Moller-Handzus-Simmonds

Man that looks good. The pieces are coming together.

Obviously I would be rather concerned about the injury part of this equation, but if this lineup happens AND stays healthy....be prepared for some winning...

Notice how he mentioned size and grit before skill.

Also, re Sully vs Williams:

"...he's bigger..."

Doesn't take a microscope...
by a whole 5 pounds and an inch and a half.

But Williams actually uses his body. And in that respects, he is bigger.

If DL wants a bigger top 6, then he better not be looking to move Frolov unless he is trading for Rick Nash or something. I will be pissed if and when DL trades Frolov.

I'm still not really a fan of this trade and it really puzzles me why DL would give up a pretty good draft pick with a pretty good player for a guy on the IR. Has he not learned enough from both his and DT's mistakes? We can only pray that Williams returns to form and if he does, I'll be ok with it. It is the looming uncertainty that makes this a very tough pill to swallow right now.

I understand this trade doesn't work on draft day because Cole is an impending UFA but I just think that maybe you get a better value for O'Sullivan and 2nd during the summer. Then again, it was O'Sullivan and a first rounder that landed injury prone Pavol Demitra. Maybe we did make out ok? I guess only time will tell. It certainly isn't the end of the world.

I hope this lights a fire under the ass of this team and gets them to win a few games. I can't help but be optimistic whether I'm happy with it or not. I want the Kings to do well and sometimes it seems like some of you are rooting for Lombardi to fail so you can "I told you so". I haven't been his biggest supporter but I've agreed with a lot of what he has done up until this point. I wasn't happy about the Lubo trade but it has worked out.

This might turn out to be good. That said: ACL and MCL tears in his left knee in 2007 and an ACL tear in his right knee in 2008. Ouch.

The secret to staying a King is to never get a contract extension. Ask Dean for cold, hard cash.

Well...first of I want to wish all the best to Patrick O'Sullivan, I really like him as a player and he always seems nice in the interviews as well. Also knowing his story, about how much he has been through, he really has a lot of heart! Thanks Sully!

I am very impressed with Williams' stats, VERY. I think and hope he will be a very good player for us.
Also, the injury prone as some people say... I would not consider breaking a finger because of a shot "injury prone".

Welcome Justin, I hope you do well!!!!

It's going to be very difficult for this Kings team led by the Madoff of NHL GM's to make the playoffs before his deal his up.
I think that by trading POS that DL is almost admitting that signing him to the extension was a mistake in the first place. Remember that DL does not like to pay for potential and he overpaid POS based on his performance this year.If and it is a big if that Williams returns to his 30/70 form this is a great move. If he does not i think that DL will be in hot water. POS may pairwith Hemsky to form a dangerous duo.
Risky trade.
