As a Ducks fan, I like the trade, too. Pahlsson is a terrific defensive center and excellent faceoff man. He should help the Hawks a lot come playoff time. That said, he's an Unrestricted Free Agent and the Ducks had a slew of UFAs. Getting Wisniewski is a nice return, especially when Pahlsson might've walked for nothing this summer.
Most intriguing "under the radar" move of the day, IMO. And I like it A LOT for both teams.
Give Tallon credit - he is not moving his core young talent. And Pahlsson fills a specific need and is playoff tested (though I still think the Hawks are a bit soft for the postseason, as currently constituted).
If Kontiola gets to play in the NHL, they should try him out with Teemu. He might just be a suitable type of center for him. This should be a huge motivational boost for Kontiola, he was getting really depressed with the Hawks, not having much chances of playing up and having the likes of Toews and Kane ahead of him.
Wiz is a whiner playing on one leg, dont see this interfearing with the Hawks defense now that Barker has stepped up into the third best defenseman on the team.
The Hawks biggest need, faceoffs was adderessed by dealing from depth, and giving up practacly nothing, a healthy scratch and a huge flop in Konti, lol. While Wiz was a decent middleweight, the Hawks have plenty of punching bags to pick up the slack.
I'm having a hard time believing that Gillis couldn't come up with a more enticing package than Wisniewski, we could've desperately used Pahlsson on our third line. Oh well.

Tallon trained under Murray in Chicago. This was a "buddy-buddy" deal.
Not saying it's a bad or anything just two friends making a deal.
