Solid return for a waiver pick up. Credit goes to JFJ for plucking him and Burke for selling him. Hope he doesn't turn into a late blooming offensive force though in Buffalo. I could see his speed and smarts fitting in quite well there.

Again, solid move. I'm happy with Burke's moves. Two UFAs for two second rounders - not bad at all.

Fantastic move.

with today's caution around the league. I dont think it bodes well to Moore's 3 million a year demand

I think its entirely possible for him to resign here for under 2 million a season

Frankly I don't think Moore is going to get the kind of money he wants with the cap going down this year. I could see him getting Alex Burrows like money but not much more. Ergo trading him was the way to go imo, so good call by Burke and co. I don't know about you guys but if Moore or Antropov came back to Toronto in the offseason I would be quite happy (assuming the deals are reasonable).

If he wants to play in Toronto he will be back.
His time with Buffalo will not help his case in regards to the $$$ he is looking for.

My thoughts are he will not be asked to provide the offence that Toronto needed him for thus his asking price will have to come down.

Surprised he got a 2nd actually. Moore could be a great fit in Buffalo, though. Hope he does well.

Buffalo is notoriously cheap and won't re-sign him, so he will be a UFA and I would like to sign him here.

There is supposed to be a bad crop of Free Agents this year and prices will be right down, so he may adjust his asking price and we may come up a little.

I upset about this, he gives 100% game in game out & we trade him.

You'd prefer having his hard work keep us around 10th-11th and let him walk on July 1 for nothing, LeafsGuru?? That is short term thinking for a team that needs long term thinking.

I was pleased with his return, for sure.

According to this draft tracker website: http://www.prosportstransactions.com...Trades/Future/, it seems like we got the Oilers' 2nd round pick which they traded to Buffalo for Kotalik.

I like that it's Edmonton's pick. They seem like kind of team that would be more likely to collapse than the Sabres.

Really like this deal. A 2nd was the most we could possibly hope for and it should be a mid-2nd as well rather than a late-2nd. Good deal Burke.

Thanks, I hadn't heard what second is was we got. That should be a mid-rounder, good stuff.

I think I was watching on TSN and they said the second Buffalo sent us was Carolina's. Not sure how that came to be. If I can find a link I'll post it here. Either that, or I'm confusing it with something else.

Well Moore is a scrappy 3rd line center who was asking for top 6 money. He's going to be a UFA at the end of the year, and he's not really a piece we're going to need in the future. Absolutely nothing to be upset about.

Moore is a replaceable player. We got him for free and we traded him for a second rounder. We're clearly the winner.

If we weren't going to re-sign him, at least get some value out of him instead of getting nothing.

Good trade, all the best Moore.

Great deal, we picked Moore up for free off of waivers and ended up with a second round pick.

The Carolina pick came from the Kotalik deal, because it ended up being a 4-way deal between Buffalo, Edmonton, LA and Carolina. Check it out.
