I like the moore and petiot for kolzig deal, but i don;t like antro's deal. Should have got a prospect with the pick.

I think Burke deserves the benefit of a doubt on this one. He got what was there to get, and the finesse move that he made with Tampa Bay was impressive.

Getting a 2nd for Moore is a job well done. I had slightly higher hopes for Antropov, but we probably have to accept that few GMs are willing to give away picks left and right, especially first rounders.

Gerber.. meh. Good for the Tank I guess.

The last deal was nice, getting a 4th rounder for taking on dead weight/salary.

Considering the market was pretty dead I think Burke did a good job. Lets hope he can deal Kaberle for an extra 1st rounder at the draft.

Meh. Anything less and I'd be drinking heavily.

Kinda neat we picked up a fourth for nothing at the end there.

As well as can be expected. The market deflated heavily, and the value, even picks, for role players plummeted. I expect, and have for quite some time, that the major changes to this team occur this summer. Can't expect the GM to pull of NHL2009 trades just b/c you want him too.

TSN just explained that Anaheim essentially screwed us over by selling pahlsson and moen, which took chicago and san jose out of making any deals with us, so there wasn't really any driving the pressure up.

Overall, I'm happy with a 2nd for Moore and the buying of the 4th, a little disappointed in the 2nd for Antro, but I'll live with it. I'd have liked to see Mayers delt or other unimportant players but I guess the draft picks weren't readily available.

"OK".

I'm happy. 2nd for a former waiver pickup, 4th for essentially 500K, and A 2nd + 3rd/4th for Antropov.

Added 2 2nds, a 4th, and either a 3rd/4th. Not bad at all seeing as we still have draft day and Kubina/Kaberle to deal if necessary.

I think we did pretty good considering our two best assets are still here. That last deal really made the day though, that was slick.

We now have all our picks back and more, so cant complain about that.

We did okay. Moore for a 2nd was great and I really like what we got for Petiot. Just wish we got a little more for Antropov even if it was a 2nd and a prospect I would be more happy.

I really hoped someone would break the bank for Kaberle. Except of that I think Burke did a great job to hold out to the end and not panic. he took the time to see if the value would go up and I really like the last trade the 3 deadbeats with a draft pick for some guy...

Can anyone say whats the conditional draft pick for Antro.? and why tf i couldn't get into the boards most of the day?

The HF board servers can't handle the traffic that hits it on certain days, of which trade deadline day and draft day are the two worst.

They've tried everything, including running a skeletal website, but its just too many people. This is, after all, the premier hockey message board on the internet.

Considering the way the day went for pretty much everyone, Burke and co. did a pretty good job. The deal that impresses me most is the deal sending us the 4th rounder, which we got for essentially nothing. And those two 2nd rounders are going to be important pieces going forward.

The Antropov deal sucked. We lost a top 6 roster player, who are we going to get in return? The odds that that 2nd/3rd round draft pans out to anyone is slim, that they can be a top 6 forward? I'm not to thrilled.
I would have rather seen Burke resign him, the Leafs aren't bad enough to get a lottery pick, so no point in a fire sale.

The deals Burke made were good deals. The players he didn't deal can still be dealt later, or they can be part of a stronger team in the future. I'm very pleased about the 4th from Tampa. That was creative use of our resources. It was not an exciting day but it was important. I think BB earned that "Excellent."

As the day went on, I knew the Leafs weren't going to get a 1st round pick for Antropov.. without looking it up, I can only think of one trade yesterday that involved a 1st round pick and that was the deal for Olli Jokinen.

Teams just weren't willing to throw 1st round picks out there to improve their teams, that's it.. I'm pleased with the 2nd round picks for Antropov and Moore. And VERY pleased with the deal that pretty much saw us buy a 4th rounder for half a million dollars.
