Christobal Huet or Roman Cechmanek?

Word from practice today was that Chechmanek and Vishnovsky are very close to returning. Who should the Kings #1 Goalie? Huet or Roman?

Huet's played very well as a back-up, and has been pretty decent when forced to take over the starting duties. It would be hard for them to put Cechmanek back in after Huet's recent success, but I think that everyone pretty much understands their roles.

Huet.

Cechmanek is a taller, less agile version of Czech countryman Dominik Hasek.. Hasek's skill came from failing and diving around in the net.. and since Cechmanek isnt as agile as the "Dominator" , he doesnt have too much going for him.. other than his size. Cechmanek takes up alot of the net (and he doesnt even cheat in this manner by loading on extra large goalie equipment like a certain Ducks goalie whom i will not name.. ) and thats all he has.. I remember a few years ago when Cechmanek made the all-star team.. in the break away competition he stopped nothing.. it was a display of what im talking about.. if anyone remembers it, they'd know what im talking about.

Not to be confused with Will Smith.

Huet in a heartbeat.....

A bunch of us are pulling for the Kings ot make the playoffs... Then hopefully Murray is dumb enough to start Cechmanek. Him getting lit up against the Avs would be so funny.

I've said this before, but if Cechmanek gets any amount of important games...

The Kings will miss the playoffs and the Blues will sneak in.

You guys might think I'm unjust on my criticism of Cechmanek, but it won't take more than three weeks for Kings fans to truely realize what a lemon they've got in Roman Cechmanek.

Checkmanek is better than Potvin, and has *some* NHL skills, maybe even starter skills....

Yeah, because after all, that .908 save percentage and 2.42 goals against of Huets is just so superior to the .907 save percentage and 2.43 goals against of Cechmaneks that it's not even funny.

Sheesh. You guys make it sound like it's Luongo vs Salo.

Huet! in a heartbeat.
Not just because he's French like me but because I am a Flyers fan and we cannot stand Cecho anymore...Cristo has been solid since Roman's injury. He put up good numbers whereas he wasn't really help by a depleted defensive corps.

GO CRISTO!! Tout le monde est avec toi !!

Cechmanek will regain his spot as the #1. Its much like the situation in Detroit. Manny Legace has been lights out again this season, and especially in the past month while Cujo was hurt. Well, Cujo is healthy now and Manny goes back to his #2 role.

Cechmanek will get his job back, but I think he will be on a short leash.

Huet's been solid the past week or so since Cech's injury. However, Cechmanek is still the #1 goalie.

Legace made 31 saves in a 3-0 shutout of Dallas Saturday. I don't know about Cujo just taking that #1 job without a fight.

I am a Wings fan, so I know the situation fairly well. Cujo will be given every opportunity to take the #1 job. But if he falters, I think its safe to say that the Wings have alot of faith in Legace.

I dont know who you'd rather have, a proven playoff choker in Roman or a completely unexperienced one in Cris.

I'd put my money on Cris.

What I'd like to see in LA, Buffalo, and other cities with questionable goaltending is the idea of Tortorella in TB. Start a goalie, play till you lose. Then you sit until the other goalie loses. Fosters healthy competition...can't be all bad.

I say AM should go with the hot hand. If Huet keeps up his solid play, just keep playing him till he loses a game, then put Cechmanek in.

Dave Lewis has already stated the Cujo is the #1 goalie right now. He want Cujo to play in about 10 of the last 13 games to get ready for the playoffs. Atleast we know that if Cujo falters, Manny can give the Wings a chance too.

Cechmanek is like a flounder out of water when he plays and his style is so unusual that it would be better to go with Huet than him. Huet played awesome today vs. the Ducks. The saves were just amazing and he should get the start for the Kings if they make the playoffs... Cechmanek is more like Chokemanic over the years...
