Will the Atlantic belong to the Flyers when they win tomorrow?

Tomorrow is a huge game. It could give the Flyers an 8 point lead over the Devils or drop it down to 4. If they win tomorrow's game, which I believe they will, would it be safe to say that the Flyers have clinched the Division? What do you think?

Take in mind the teams we have left to play:

New Jersey
Montreal
Carolina
Toronto
Pittsburgh
Ottawa
Rangers (twice)
Islanders (twice)

Devils have this remaining schedule:

3/13 at Philadelphia
3/15 at NY Rangers
3/17 Pittsburgh
3/19 Montreal
3/20 at Montreal
3/23 at Fla
3/25 at TB
3/26 at Atl
3/28 vs NYI
3/30 vs NYR
4/3 at Bos
4/4 vs Bos

They have to play Montreal twice, TB, and Boston twice.

Thanks for the sarcastic input. It's a reasonable question.

It's not sarcastic at all... I don't think you can assume anything, specially with all the injuries that keep comming.

Hell, we had in wrapped up as soon as Stevens went out.

I acctually wan tto see NJ keep winning games so they can finsh 4th or 5th overall, so we don't have to face them in the first round.

When we get a "y" or in some cases an "x" for "clinched division title" in the standings, then I will rest easy. Until then, nothing can even be assumed.

All I care about right now is getting the 2 key points against Jersey tomorrow. After that, THEN we can look ahead to the rest of the schedule. We NEED to get a top 2 seed in the East. Anything else spells a tough road to the later rounds of postseason play. 3rd = Devs, 4th = B's/Leafs/Sens I think...

The problem with that is if the Bruins win their division, and it looks like they might, it will be the Leafs or Sens in the first round instead. Even if they dont, and the choice is between a Stevens-less Devils and the Bruins, I would rather play the Devils. There are six tough, tough teams this year, especially after the Rangers and Caps firesales. This isnt like last year at all, when there were only four contenders and the South East champs. This year, the only good seed is 1st in the East to play the Islanders. Even the Habs are looking like a tough draw, with the addition of Kovalev and Theo standing on his head.

We have usually done very well against MTL though, it's just been in our history.

All I know is that I hope some of you are keeping a healthy, knockable piece of wood nearby when making all these predictions. :-)

Take in mind the teams we have left to play:

New Jersey = Tie
Montreal = Win
Carolina = Win
Toronto = Win
Pittsburgh = Win
Ottawa = Loss
Rangers (twice) = Win x 2
Islanders (twice) = Win and Lose

I see this being the reality.
The key will be the division games. If we beat Jersey and the Isles and Rangers twice, we'll be in awesome shape. Carolina and Pittsburgh should be wins. We can afford to lose against Ottawa if the rest falls into place.

right now, i think the division is ours to lose. NJ is 6 points back with only 2 games in hand. if we keep on playing like we have been, i don't think we have anything to worry about. plus we're only going to get better when our injured players get back.

the two most important things right now is that one, we get healthy and two, that we play one game at a time...starting with NJ.

I will use a great quote from Dave Poulin from way back when he was asked onetime about the Flyers winning the division and he said "we control our own destiny".
and so does this team today.

Devils remaining schedule:

Flyers
Rangers (x2)
Penguins
Habs (x2)
Lightning
Panthers
Thrashers
Islanders
Bruins (x2)

IMHO, they have a slightly harder schedule
