Petroleum Jelly cause acne?

I need to put some on my face because my skin is peeling. Just wondering if it will cause/worsen acne. I heard people saying it does and some saying it doesn't, any of you know first hand?

It's the CVS brand if that matters.

If my lips get really dry I use some and if it ends up on my chin I do end up breaking out because of it.

It definitely can, it clogs pores.

Instead of petroleum jelly, I would use an ointment called Aquaphor. It's still thick, but it's also medicated. Use it in the driest places. Then use a product from Neutrogena called "Body Emulsion: Intensive Therapeutic Lotion" all over your face.

I have eczema, and that's my regimen. Moisturized skin and no acne.
