MacTavish now has 16 forwards to work with and like 9 defencemen. He has a hell of a lot of ingredients now so if he can't bake a cake at this point he is lost. There should be a lot of competition for roster spots as well which should help.

For tonight, Reddox, MacIntyre and Nilsson are scratched. These guys have all played well and all played different styles. Moreau and Visnovsky are injured. Thats 5 players sitting out along with several guys in the minors that are worthy of call-ups.

MACTAVISH has to make a run with this team. There is too much to work with. If anyone isn't working hard there are 3 guys waiting to take their place. No more excuses! Lets start winning.

Sam Gagner is a ppg in March.....
When people drop the "PPG" argument it's usually for the entire season. Not just the parts you want to use

So are we sending someone down? Did we put Moreau on IR? Something has to give today with our roster limit.

After the trade deadline you can have as many guys as you want on your roster.

POS on the RW = good. Sniper in a one-timer position the whole time.

Nilsson not on the 2nd line LW = Bad. 'Course thats my opinion, but feel that Nilsson - Gagner produced alot of chances for Cole but he wasn't the shooter that O'Sullivan is.

Can I just say that I really hate POS as a nickname for O'Sullivan? My vote goes to "Patio."

Right, because its reasonable to compare a one game sample to 53..

Again Smyth was PPG here the entire season that he was here prior to trade deadline. 53 pts in 53 games. 31 Goals. No reason to think he wouldn't finish complete year ppg.

As it was he had 68pts in 71GP that year after having to adjust to a new team.

Only technically are you right and only by a whisker.

Totally agree on point 1. Not so much on point 2. Patio? Really?

It'll end up being Sully I'm sure.

Maybe if we agreed to pay his salary. But even then probably no.

Kotalik is damn frustrating, but he's got a cannon and is usually dependable for a 40 point season. He was never really a top line player here. I'n guessing you guys get about 50-55 points out of him if he constantly plays with Hemsky.

It will, I'm sure because no one has any imagination when it comes to nicknames in hockey. Why not Lucky? Or Irish? Anything but Sully (and POS).

But I digress.

For what it's worth (not much) it says Sully here:
http://www.mahalo.com/Patrick_O%27Sullivan

I wouldn't mind PatO either though I guess. It's unfortunate there are barely any original nicknames around the league anymore.
