"What if Don Cherry became prime minister of Canada?"
Before i even listen to the links here's what Canada would be like!
Ontario would still be the centre of the universe
The Leafs would still be "canada's team"
Imigrants would have to check their visiors before entry
Bertuzzi would only get a game or 2 because he was sticking up for a teammate
Western Canada would be ignored and eventually sold to the US. Canada would later consist only of Ontario and New Ontario (invaded Quebec) with a cabinet of "good Canadian kids". Wearing a visor would be deemed traitorous to Canada, and you'd be tossed in jail. All Canadian hockey teams will be merged into the Toronto Maple Leafs with Tie Domi as captain, coach and GM...
For one thing, the eastern provinces would be forgotten, as I don't think Cherry has ever crossed La Fleuve, and Canada would be represented in parliament by "good ol' boys" like Kirk Muller, Doug Gilmour, and Tie Domi. Atleast we'd fight wars in the open and face to face instead of using sneaky special forces teams and europeans.... Oh... we'd have the best dressed leader ever, and starch collars would make a huge comeback. Scholarships to university would be based mainly on athletics, or perhaps some other display of toughness. Criminals would be penalized according to "the code", which meant the police would really become a bunch of 4th line enforcers. Oh, what about immigration? Only from non-diving European countries, and none of the "good canadians" can leave.
Did I cover all the bases?
