no way, the short drive to see a game, the history/rivalry, and the fact that it would ruin my office fun with the bets I make with my Islander fan co-workers.

Seriously though, how could the league even let it happen? I mean they have to have some say in the matter. How could the NHL allow a team that won 4 stanley cups in a row just up and move?

No, they've been around since the 70's and are now well established. Hate to see such a team moving. With Phoenix, I wouldn't really care.

Plus, it's great to have two NY teams, love the rivalries.

i'd be happy if they move them for about a month just to make isles fans really suffer living with the pain of thinking they lost their franchise 4ever. then they can get them back.

After you guys whoop on NJ like that, by all means stay. Seriously, I don't have the Isles hate ... I don't take the fan thing that seriously. If the Rangers were knocked out of the playoffs and the Islanders were still in, I'd pull for the Islanders. I do go to Jones Beach after all (well, except for about five years after I first saw Jaws). It would just be wrong to see Bossy and Trottier's numbers hanging in another city.

i guess i'll be the first of my kind. i dislike the islanders to the point that i wouldnt be upset if they left. i wouldnt be ecstatic but it wouldnt really effect me either way. i wouldnt mind being able to rub it in the face off all the islander fans i know for the rest of their lifetime. it would kinda be the all-time we-win you-lose.

IF they get J.T or even Hedman, I'd be happy to see them stick around.

But if they continue to a crap team and with no light at the end of the tunnel I'd much prefer to have the Bruins in our Division.

That arena is horrid too. I hate going to the damn place other than the look of shock on my friends faces when we usually show up with 7K +

No, I love the Rangers-Islanders rivalry, it's good for the sport and the fans. I'm from Jersey, so I don't really hate the Islanders all that much, but even if it was the Devils that were threatening to leave, I still wouldn't want it to happen. Rivalries are what make sports fun.

There's a poll in that one with results.
