Leafs and Oil: No effort version

I saw there wasn't one yet so I figured I'd toss one up. But I am only putting in as much effort to this thread as I expect to see from the Oil tonight.

If someone makes a better GDT a mod can lock this.

Prediction for tonight is that we are once again dominated by a worse team on paper, and if we are super lucky, we may get a point out of this game. I don't expect us to be super lucky

Leafs 4 Oil 2

And a MacT extension follows soon after.

The team doesn't deserve anymore than that with the way they've played.

The leafs are on fire and the Oilers are ice cold. Not sure whos going to win. A loss here and we are done like dinner IMO. Its going to come down to the last game vs Calgary so I think we win.

5-4 Oilers

Going to be a exciting game.

Did you play the Leafs in NHL 09 and that was the result? I don't see this team scoring 6 goals at all not even against the Laffs.

As a fanbase, we are probably the most pessimistic and jaded bunch. We hate all of our players at one point or another, and give up on our team after every loss, only to watch the next game.

I'll take a 5-1 Oiler victory tonight and this game will be the turning point in the Oil ending up in the 6th spot in the West.

Hemsky, Kotalik, Nilsson, Smid & Cogliano

I'll say Oilers in a shootout 4-3....and I won't be surprised one bit if we lose the game something like 5-3.

I just think that after 60 some games we have seen what we have. And it's a collection of decent players, most playing well below their capabilities near every game. Why would we suddenly expect that to change tonight? Suddenly MacT is going to get through to them or inspire them?

We are still fans and will watch the games, we just won't get excited beforehand or expect to win or see effort.

A newbie will score, our powerplay will look better but still go ow-fer, and Cherry will criticize an entire continent.

We win in spite of 20 turnovers at the offensive blue (a frustrating habit lately).

Very frustrating espically when most are coming from Hemsky.

Gerber gets 1 goal scored on him. We'll outplay the Leafs, but Roli will let in some softies. Jason Blake will do something stupid or anger us. Smid will have a good game and a fight.

3-1 Leafs.
Kotalik for us.

I am more concerned with the turnovers at the defensive blue line. MacT has ingrained into the team to always make the simple play(off the boards and out), which means all a team has to do to beat us is to keep forechecking us hard, and we will always throw the puck away off the boards and out so their d-men can recover it, which means we never have possession. Rinse, repeat until final buzzer.

I will say something like ....5-2 Leafs. A similar game to Ottawa, slow start and a couple of bad breaks early that lead to goals, they will try to battle back but it won't work out.

We will also be outshot significantly. When was the last time we actually had more shots than our opponent?

not happy after losing 444 vbookie dollars from that guaranteed win (i.e. stinker) in Ottawa If the Oil come out pissed and with a chip on their shoulder's tonight, they should be able to win 'easy'.

If they have no passion like Ottawa, then we're in for another rough night.

Do we know if Nilsson is back for tonight?

That's embarrassing.

Could it be that we aren't scoring goals because we just aren't shooting as much as we should? Pucks aren't going to go in the net unless you get shots.. We aren't getting shots.
