Something that Begin said?

I read in the GDT that Begin was asked by Luc Gelinas what he thinks is wrong with this team and Steve laughed saying that he'll tell all about the dressing room this summer..?

Can anyone confirm this? What exactly did he say?

Maybe by that he meant that he'd get to all of his silly questions in the summer and that right now he's focused on the game.

Yea something like Gélinas asked him what are the problems in the Habs locker room. Bégin laughed and said "I'll tell you next summer". It seems like it was done in a jokey manner.

He would have said it as a joke. A 4th liner nearing free agency wouldn't say anything negative about his former team's dressing room. Besides, Stevie's always been a good guy....he understands The Code.

I can confirm it, I said it. It was from Luc Gelinas' ticker on rds.ca online feed.

especially considering he may want to come back to the team during the off-season.

Sounds to me like he was just avoiding the question, which was very smart of him.

Begin probably said that jokingly to ignore the question, which is stupid.

Players make hundreds of thousands, if not millions. Yes, they are young and human, but most of them are probably intelligent enough to know they have a very special and blessed position in this world.

They are probably more professional toward each others than your typical garage league. Not to say nothing ever happens in the dressing room, but I doubt there is drama to the extent of what the medias try to create.

If a reality show was made in the dressing room, I'm sure it would be very boring.

Well, it sure does not sound like everything is peachy in there, or he would admit as much.

Didn't we already know there was problems in the dressing room? They've been talking about cliques in there forever. This is nothing new.

Smart, joke about something the Media has manifested for months only to amplify the manifestation. Smooth.

That's just silly, they're both hockey players. You could make the argument that one is a "good" hockey player, though.

Maybe Begin can ruin their chances at the playoffs, by taking a stupid penalty in the last 2 minutes of the game. That would be wickedly fantastic.

If he opens his mouth, I would tend to think maybe he was part of the problem and not solution. Most guys leave teams quietly and respectfully. A guy who feels the need to speak out often is the guy needing to defend himself first and get his story out because he knows its unlikely the organization will call him on it.

On more than one occasion we've heard him, a fourth liner at best complain about ice time. I get the impression he wasn't the big team player people made him out to be especially the last few years.

Especially after the team traded him to give him a chance on another team to try and earn a new contract for next year. Clearly it was a joke.
