Blackhawks leading scorer Martin Havlat left Sunday's game against Colorado early in the second period with an undisclosed injury.
Havlat played only seven minutes before departing.
The Hawks announced only that Havlat would not return to the game.
The Hawks' growing injury list already includes Nikolai Khabibulin, Patrick Sharp, Sammy Pahlsson and Brent Sopel.
taken from the Hawks board.

Feel bad for Havlat, seems like he's made of glass. Wonder what he will get in the open market this summer if the Hawks don't resign him. Can't see it being in the same range as his curent, my guess he goes for 3-4 mill a season.

It's a day to day minor lower body injury, he tweaked his groin, not a big deal, it wasn't his shoulder, he'll probably be back in 3-4 games. Not a serious injury for sure, the coach was saying he'll be back very shortly after a bit of rest.

Considering he hasn't missed a game all year, this little injury is nothing to write home about.

Considering he hasn't played a full season once in his career, it's probably something to worry about.

That's how it goes with this guy.

He scores more points in a half season than our 2nd liners do in a full season. If he could be had at 5m I would make the movements in personnel to free up the cap space

Given his injury history and suspensions I would not pay more than $3M. It is a mistake to tie up that much cap space for an oft-injured player.

I know people like to keep tabs on former Senators players, but he's been out of our organization for almost 3 years now. Time to let go and not care. His impact here wasn't that significant imo that whenever something happens to him, we need a thread. I can't even imagine what it will be like if/when Volchenkov leaves....

Trust me, dude is just faking the injury to get some rest before the playoffs. It's his contract year, so he's not gonna **** around. The past two seasons have been fake injuries as well.

Those injury reports transactions of course being a bit misleading as im sure you all noticed, as it records him leaving a game with an injury one day, then being out for a month the next day with the same injury, then being reported as day to day as he trys to make his way back from that same injury as 3 injuries, when it is really one.

But his injury history for sure will lower his value a bit. Although, when players go on an iron man streak in hockey, it is celebrated as a great accomplishment. because hockey players getting injured is the norm. Hockey players not getting injured much is the abberation

My thought when I saw this thread was similar. What was the purpose of this thread? To try to justify us not signing him 3 years ago? Because we need to know the ins and outs of all our major ex-players?

With three top-end players signed up for long-term, Hossa is not affordable.

There is no way I would let go off Volchenkov without letting go of others.
