****ing strudwick and souray should've been in the box that entire first period with the hooking, holding, clutch - grab and interference.

unbelievable

Kostitsyn needs to put them in. Tanguay set him up again tonight in the slot and he just misses, last game Kostitsyn missed on two 2 on 1-s.

It's been a while since I saw the team move that fast. It was fun to watch, good forechecking.

The absolute key was the reinstitution of a rule taught to every five year old timbit. WINGERS IN OWN ZONE AT HASH MARKS FOR BREAKOUT.

Sad it took a coaching change to get that play going

...and yes, Metropolit is making a case as to why we grabbed him. He's like Begin with offensive instincts out there
this is the team from last year or the start of it anyway..sick transition game and pressure in the O zone. thing is we still need a banger up front who has hands...maybe it's max pac..and he needs to play with kovy and pleks....not sure...but d'ago isn't physical enough to be that guy...
what about huggy bear spot picker stortini?

he loses. i don't want stewart having to fight heavyweights all the time

I wish Tanguay had never gotten hurt, he's such an amazing playmaker.
That line has some major potential.
Very exciting game so far.

yeah, it happens though.
I remember those 2 on 1's and only one of them was possible to convert (the one from tanguay lol)
The other one was a nice pass attempt bu Metro but it was to far in front of Andrei who was setting up for a one timer.
Your right though, he's supposed to be on of our top goal scorers, if not the one, so he needs to put them home first try.

Tanguay-Koivu-Kostitsyn line's creativity gives them enough time and space to make it seem like a powerplay

He started two games ago - and has played extremely well. We're lucky to have two goalies that seem to be playing quite well all of a sudden.

What they don't need is a BS goalie controversy right now.

Solid first period debut. Let's not get carried away as consistency from period to period has been our problem all season long.

Started off looking like a Carbo-era Canadiens team. But after the nerves of the first couple minutes wore off and Price made the save in the slot, we dominated the Oilers. We're using our speed. Short quick passes to gain the zone and it's coming natural, it's beautiful to watch. Everyone seems engaged. Metropolit is making me eat crow so far tonight, very impressive first period. Hamrlik had a very good first period as well. I didn't notice Komisarek doing anything bad instead of Rivet-ing a shot, but I'm accustomed to that.

The powerplay looked deadly out there. Markov-Schneider played the entire powerplay. As they should. Penalty kill was using particular players and not gassing out our more talented offensive players. I'm liking it so far, as long as the trend continues.

Is Gagnon really suggesting Mario Tremblay as a possibility (no matter how minute)?

Stewie can take care of himself.. He knows his job, and he plays it to perfection... He is exactly what need, a fourth line plugger who can play well enough to get ice time.. But also take matter into his own hands, defend his teammates and fight (and actually win most of them, unlike Begin/Kostopoulous).

Great fourth line guy.

Carbo wanted to get himself fired. The mistakes he did were flagrant and obvious.

Yeah, I mean common... People hate it when Laraque is in the lineup, but then complain that Stewart has to fight heavyweights? Cannot have it both ways. I like Stewart so far, but he's like 900 miles from being too valuable to fight a heavyweight
