Go worry what happened to Zednik. Habs still behind the Leafs in standings should be more of a concern to you then Francis.
Francis looked great, he setup a great goal by Stajan.
This guy is going to be awesome in the playoffs. Best deal Leafs ever made.

Great game, but Francis being the best deal the Leafs ever made is one of the classic quotes

I do. That deal and Joe Neiwendyk. It takes so much load off Sundin having those guys there. As much as I love Mats, I don't think he is much of a rah rah type a guy in the dressing room.
Joe and Ron bring that kind of experience and in the playoffs in those 7th games, those guys could be instrumental.
Only time will tell. I just think it's unfair to pick on Francis for 1 game. He actually looked great.

Im not worried about the Habs being behind the leafs. Because the way it is, its right. The leafs should be ahead. I never said the habs were better than the leafs, i just think they can win a cup is what i said.

For what we gave up to get Francis, I think it was the best deal I have ever seen.
Name a better deal than that?

The Leafs and Habs got an equal chance to win the cup. Heck, every team has the same chance.
They will need to get used to Francis and that shouldn't take long. The critcism he is already getting is unfair. We all know he is old, but he still belongs in the NHL.

Well, can you name a better deal? Take into account what we gave up for him.
Before this deal I thought the McCabe for Karpo was the best deal.

people shouldnt make judgment on him from one game.

I agree, the criticism is unfair after one game. Francis actually looked good and it's great to see his veteran savvy out there.

Oh Lord... Francis doesn't bring that much. He's not a liability but really- you don't have a center in your system who could use the minutes?? Couldn't Stajan have filled in? God - all I read about was how awesome he is. Wasn't there a guy who whose avatar was Stajan the Lord of Hockey or something totally gay like that?

I question the sexuality of any guy who uses the word 'totally' like you just did.

Maybe you are something gay like that, eh?

---McCabe for Karpotsev was a great deal...the fourth round pick in 2001 was either Alexei Zotkin, Vladimir Gusev or Brent MacLellan....the 2 Russians are in the ECHL, MacLellan in the QMJHL. Better deal than Francis, in terms of the future and the now (CHI had 3 4th round picks, not sure which was the Leafs')

---quote from the Leafs site "After being traded by Montreal and Tampa, the Leafs acquired Tucker in exchange for Mike Johnson, Marek Posmyk and draft picks". Johnson is doing pretty well in Phoenix, injuries aside, but the role Tucker has brought to the team far outweights it, IMO

Other than those two, nothing comes to mind..but seeing how we've had Francis for 2 games, and those two players are integral parts of our tema..yeah

I live in Toronto, and people have been going nuts about you guys getting him. To be honest with you, i dont think he was a good pick up for you guys at all. Sure he adds experience, but he looked really, really, really slow tonight. Ive seen Francis play over the years, and man did he look burnt out. The difference in play from last season and this season has been huge.

Anyways, i had to share that with you guys!

By the way, please dont ever doubt the Habs again, anything is possible. We won tonight without our best defensiveman and our best two way player. I think a To/Mon series could go any way, espicially if the lower ranked team on paper has confidence.

PS:I really hope we meat you guys in the playoffs, it would just be an awsome series.

Peace!
Francis is not here to be the leading scorer. He is here to win us key face offs, play tight d and give us depth that we needed with Joe N. back problems. He will still produce good numbers and is saving his best hockey for the playoffs. Watch what happens when the playoffs start. Everyone is going to be saying where did that extra gear come from. He still has the hands and vision to make big plays reguardless of what anyone says. He is also like having another coach in the dressing room. He is the type of guy that is quiet but when he does talk everone shuts up and listens up.
