Two great young players about to enter their prime. For me, I would rather have Getzlaf. This isn't a knock against Nash. It's just IMO Center > Wing

For my team, Nash. The guy is a beast.

Nash!

They are both machines, but Nash is the superior goal scorer. All things being equal, give me the goal scorer over the playmaker. He also kills penalties, wears the "C", led the league in goals, and has done it all without much of a supporting cast until just recently.

Getzlaf whines a bit too much. He plays with more of an edge than Nash but sometimes that works against him. Getzlaf is a great player but I wouldn't build my team starting with him, while Nash has already shown that a team can be built starting with him.

Nash probably

I used to think he was overrated as hell, but he is really showing a lot more this season. I doubt his offensive skills will ever be on the level of Kovalchuk or some of the others, but he is such a good all around player.

Great poll. Getzlaf is the better all around player but Rick Nash would be a better fit on the Oilers playing with Ales Hemsky, so Nash for me.

They are both great players but I would take Nash. I could see him putting up 50-60 goals someday.

Getzlaf is easily the better all around player. More physical, better defensively, better playmaker only edge Nash has is goal scoring. When it comes down to it do you want the guy who needs someone else to produce or do you want a guy who makes those around him better?

Getzlaf is the better player but I'll take the goalscorer please. They're rarer.

Nash does not need any help to produce. He takes it to the net by himself with the best of them. He also makes players around him better.

Nash=Goal scoring winger= Almost a lock for team Canada 2010
Getz=Playmaking center= Questionable for 2010, because there's an abundance of similar players already.

Although its really close as to whose better, i think Nash might be more valuable in the role he's in

Nash and its not close.
Maybe I am a little biased because the majority of the time I see him is when the jackets play the wings, and he tears apart the wings. I just think Nash is a total beast and when hes on his game he cant be stopped.

Good poll! I picked Nash, but its a tough one. Really good LW's are harder to come by.

At the start of this year I take Getzlaf, but after seeing Nash perform this year and dominate night in night out I take Nash easily. Unlike Getz Nash has never had the privilege to play with not only talented forwards but some of the best puck movers in the business on the back end. Nash and I wouldn't think twice now. Oh and btw comparing there defense games is absolutely retarded considering they play different roles 5 on 5. It looks like Getzlaf is better at defense because he has to go in deeper in the D-zone than Nash does (Nash plays up top on the defenders). At least if your going to vote or say one is better than the other defensively at least know something about the game and role of a center vs a winger. Nash though is an elite penalty killer.
