If Getzlaf is smarter than Nash, then why does Nash lead all forwards in takeaways? Seems to me that he reads and reacts to the plays quicker.
(I reserve the right to retract that statement because I can't find the Takeaways stats anywhere, it is just what was said on FSN-Ohio.)
Getzlaf also made Corey Perry 25 million dollars

You're right because Perry isn't a solid hockey player...come on I know better than that.

Getzlaf easily, despite his terrible play recently.

Eah, Nash just leads the Western Conference in shorthanded goals and just 1 behind Richards in the entire NHL

Giveaways/takeaways stats:
http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.h...tssPlayerStats
Nash has 59 takeaways and 27 giveavways.
Getz has 51 takeaways and 59 giveaways. He loses the puck more often than steals it. Probably cause he's too smart.

Are you ****ing kidding me!!!!!! All credibility with your opinions lost right there. Exit the thread immediately. Rick Nash is a fricken puck hog when he's on the ice. The puck is ALWAYS on his stick.

What does a Duck's game have to do with how often Nash has the puck? If this is true, taking TOI into account, I'd say possession of the puck isn't the sole reason for the discrepancy in giveaways.

I think it's funny any time someone says "Getzlaf by a hair."

Getzlaf gives it away because he'd rather force a pass than force a shot too, though I'm not saying this is a good thing, he is successful such a high number of times it's hard to blame him. I personally wish he would try to score more himself, but he's still learning the finer points of getting the most out of his potential. You don't want to force him into a different play style though and stiffle his creativity because he's a fantastic playmaker, he scans the ice so well yet is so deceptive with his passes and does a great job of not showing his hand by looking off who is going to pass to for example. He just gets a little wrapped up in it every once in awhile.

Both of them are eerily similar in how they hold on to the puck. They're so strong on their skates and have such a good reach that they can just toy with people by moving the puck around and keeping their body between their opponent and the puck. Hands down the two best players at this in the league, their are some great players with puck control and Joe Thornton is especially excellent with the puck, but nobody quite can work this particular style like Getzlaf or Nash. They're both really quick for their size and soft with their hands. They're basically the same player. The thing that separates them I really this is that Getzlaf is more imaginative.

Somehow your post making sense to you doesn't surprise me after reading your responses. They average pretty much the same amount of ice time per game (Nash averages 1 more minute per game) and Nash probably has the puck on his stick 85% of the time the offense has control when he is on the ice. The play always goes through him. I really don't see what the Ducks have to do with Nash's TOI. If you see a similarity then I don't know what to tell you because you're wrong. I never once said Getzlaf doesn't have the puck a lot, but to insinuate that he has it more than Nash is crazy talk considering Nash always has it. Look at Nash's total shots so far this season, that stat alone says that he has the puck all the time. Nash isn't exactly a one-timer kind of guy.

I'm just wondering how easy is that for you now, since Nash just scored his 71st point?

This one's close, and I am surprised people are able to recognize how talented Nash is considering he plays on a defensive team.
