They're probably both factors, in addition to not playing him as much, to maybe keep him fresher for the POs. But at the same time, I wouldn't downplay his poor play recently, either.

Can't do it anyway, Naslund has a NMC.

Whenever the captain is on a line outside the #1 the MSG announcers refer to it as the "Player's Name" line rather than what it is. They often did the same with Messier as his career came to a close too.

Yeah, it's like, totally awesome the way he's been totally playing lately, especially like totally tonight.

Give me a break with this guy. He sucks.

to all the avery haters, tonight is some proof of why we needed him. he is proving everyone who said no to him coming back wrong everygame. brings intensity every shift and has the ability to score and set up some offense. naslund on 3rd line is where he should play, just get him some pp time. now lets sweep philly

Naslund should be on the second with Drury and Antropov. Dubinsky centering the third with Korpikoski and Zherdev.
Avery Gomez Callahan looked very good.

given that Avery got almost twice as much ice as Naslund, I'm going to say no.

I agree, I'd like to see that.

Calling Gomez line very good is a bit much. It was their first game together, but they where pressured in defensive zone sometimes, and they was caught high in offensive zone which lead to the 2nd goal against (I think it was the second one, I know many in the game thread blamed Girardi for it tho).

oh, i like that. i'd swap sjostrom and korpedo since sjostrom is a natural RW and korpedo is a LW. Anisimov deserves the call up but I don't know if Tortorella would do this.
