He played sparingly at best through 2 periods and was often on the fouth line. I want to say his ice time after 2 periods was 7 minutes

As in he was getting shorted before he sacrificed his body to help the team

btw- it's 'lose', not 'loose'.
I guess thats what happens when you watch a game, intensely rooting for a W, and try to type.

9:26 seconds of ice time for Perron. One point and a +1.

He's had three really solid games before this and this is what he gets? And it had nothing to do with his knee. He wasn't playing much before that.

He played great for his total 9:26 of ice time.

Whitfield even had more ice time than him.

I thought we resolved this after the last game. Apparently not.

Exactly.

Murray can spout off his press friendly nonsense about rewarding the players that play well, but it seems like if Perron doesn poorly...he gets punished. If he does too well...he gets punished. There should be no excuses for this kind of crap. People should just stop blindly following the croaky cries of a feeble old man and realize there is a vendetta against Perron and it is unfair. His reward for making the most of his time last game and this game is sitting on the bench. At some point the thought "why try" will cross his mind

After the last game and Murray came out and said he thought Perron had "turned the corner" made me think he was loosening the leash.

It's frustrating.

Minnesota and Colorado tied in Overtime. So, Minnesota gets a point no matter what.

In all fairness we did spend a lot of time on the PK. So Perron's #'s would naturally be down. He also had the kneeing incident. Plus, with Berglund and Seen out Andy probably wanted to balance the lines......

Ok I put all the possible responses in support of Andy out there, now....

Play the kid Andy!!!!!

Nice gutcheck win but we can't celebrate yet. The real test comes up Saturday afternoon.

That was my take...kind of a crazy, backhanded compliment...but a statement that Perron's talent was needed to avoid having to ice a Hinote-Whitfield-Winchester 4th line.

If either Berglund or Steen is back Saturday, and Perron is still on the 4th line, I'll buy in to the conspiracy theory.

Mason's Canadian. He can't be President.

Looks like on our team the only ones born in the U.S. are: Backes, Crombeen, Hinote, Janssen, Johnson, Oshie, Tkachuk, and Winchester.

Andy said in the post game interview that Perron deserved to play more minutes, but it was how the game was unfolding.

I've never cheered after an empty-netter so much! What a night!
Oh, and the officials were horrible. Not only the refs, but the linesmen, too! I counted 3 times where the Sharks were BLATANTLY offside but no whistle was forthcoming.
But they got the win so....

If the Blues sneak in and the Sharks can get first in the West, I think we win a seven game series. We just match up well against them despite the fact I think they are a great great team

For those who may be interested, I've still got my "Post-ASB +/- Topic" up to date.

Guess who's leading the pack after tonight's game (if my numbers are correct)?

Jay Mckee. +7. Wow.

Wow indeed. It's good to see Boyes at +4 post-ASB as well.

But I'm most shocked by Woywitka's +5, to be honest.

That should be more US born players than the average NHL team, and probably a lot more importance to the overall minutes played and importance to the team's success.
