Starting Cam ended up backfiring on us.. now we have an all important game to win.. most likely with Leighton in net.

How did you come to such conclusion?

The rest of the team had no wheels and he is at fault somehow? Yet again he was the pretty much only one trying.

It's not that Ward was at fault, it's that the assumption is Leighton will get a start on this road trip and it should have been burned on a game we lost anyway.

I don't think Mo has any choice but to go with Ward again on Saturday. But if he doesn't, I'm not as down on Leighton as most so I would be fine with that. It would give Ward almost a week off before the stretch run.

Where in that post did I blame Cam? WoodGundy explains exactly what I was saying.

Now that we lost to Dallas I don't want Leighton in net vs. Washington. It would have been nice for Cam to get his rest vs. Dallas and be ready Saturday night, but hindsight is 20/20.

this is it - finally 10 games. We have 78 points in 70 games. I think we need over 92-95 points for playoffs. That means in last 12 games, we need at least 14 points.

7-5 record matches last year, but I think they'd be safely in with an 8-4 record. It's quite possible with 8 of the last 11 at home.

I worry that all of these teams pushing are going to raise the bar for the points needed, and that some will be "taken' from the lower and upper teams who aren't in crisis mode. I think we have to be prepared for another rush to the finish line like last year where a few teams just keep winning and winning.
