So in the article the other day from Glennon that talked about Pilhstrom, there was a quote from the coach that said he had tried Pihlstrom on scoring lines for 20 games, and it just wasn't working out.
My gut reaction is that he is grossly exaggerating the amount of games he played on a scoring line..... But then again, I haven't been watching the games. So I figured I'd check with the people that DO watch the games!
Our problem in a nutshell- we have no prospects other than Wilson that seem like they can translate scoring to the nhl level. Literally, I'm not sure we have a 15 goal scorer.
Jones will be eventually, and could probably hit 20 with the right linemates and enough ice time, he's just really raw right now. Powerforwards usually take a while to develop.
Hörnqvist has really come on in the AHL, so maybe he's finally starting to adjust to the North American game and can bring it to the NHL. Santorelli needs another year, but he's a pretty safe bet to make the NHL, I think, and he will be a scorer. Ryan Thang out at Notre Dame looks good, although he's missed most of the season (and I believe he'll miss the rest of it) with an ankle injury. Ben Ryan has started to come along, and Taylor Stefishen has produced surprisingly impressive results in spot work with The Ohio State University. The latter three are a little too early to make a good call on what they'll do at this level, but they show some promise.
