Can Montreal Win The Stanley Cup?

Is it realistic to think this team could run the table and win it all?
I like our chances come April, but I fear the Devils the most. I think we can handle every other team in the east.

The only team i scared of is the devils..
I don't see the flyers as a threat we have been playing good against them this year and for washington they have theo in net... nothing to be worried about

We'll need Carbo to stick with last night's lines, and to continue to get good goaltending, but if both of those hold up, then I believe in our chances to make the playoffs and maybe win a round or two at least.

I agree that the only team in the East I'm afraid of is New Jersey. Second would be Washington, but the Devils are the only ones I think we have basically no chance against.

Sounds like Habs fans pre round 2 last season

Habs have a chance, just like any team that makes the playoffs, the key here being makes the playoffs.

no we wont win because even though the players would play to their full potential. i strongly believe that will be out-coached almost every game in the play-offs

At the beginning of this season I said this team had the ability to win the Stanley Cup.

Lang is gone, Sergei is gone, Schneider is in, Pacioretty is in, Metropolit is in.

This team still has the ability, in my eyes, to win the Stanley Cup, especially if we get Lang back 100% at some point in the post-season. It would be like acquiring a player at the trade deadline but its the post-season. It would be phenomenal for us.

They can if they play up to their potential.

I just worry about being outcoached. IMO it'll depend on the players taking charge themselves and playing well enough to compensate for Carbo's horrible coaching.

:sarcasmHoly smokes one road win out of three and the question is "can we win the stanley cup"? Lets just make the playoffs first, hopefully my post is not re-circulated because of what I said during the first period of last nights game, lol, we all re-act to what we see and hear, but anyway I think that if we continue in the same line format we had last night, and if the Price is right, then im sure come playoff time we'll be in contestants row. If we hang around long enough maybe we'll make it to the showcase showdown.

Gee, we won a game ... time to plan the parade...

Of course the habs can win the cup. But, you know, they were just as able to win it after they lost to Atlanta....

Try to be a little more consistent folks

I think we'll have a much better chance if ever Lang and Latendresse come back.

Get real-we win one game against a team that played 6/9 nightsand a lousy team at that and we want to celebrate with the a parade i wnated to lose so maybe Carbo would have been fired I believe that is the only way we have a chance is change of coach plus they played better cause it was thier rookie party last night if lost they probably wouldn't of had it. The next 4 games will tell a story.

LOL!

and i never use that term, but respectively no.

-shaky goaltending
-questionable defence
-bad defensive system
-not one 30 goal scorer (maybe kosti if he gets hot down the stretch)
-very little character and grit shown all year.
- no playoff warriors besides maybe koivu

It wont all magically turn around come playoff time. Lots of teams have deficiencies, theyre just not as glaring as the habs.

True, Habs have too many holes to win a cup other than by luck this season...

Provided our record at home I don't see why we can't go 3-1-0 in our next four home games. Then we play Ottawa on the road - a team we seemingly owned this year. I think we're in good shape and win in Dallas last night was big.

With Jesus Price back, the cup is a strong possibility. I'm glad Carbo didn't let his emotions and feel obligated to play Halak despite him saving our ass. Halak is at best a good goalie. Price is a franchise player and a generational goalie. He can single handedly win a Cup.
