17 games is a decently sized sample and to me at least, it was very noticeable; I hope this is a permanent change.
He's got the skill(hand-eye coordination) to be good at face-offs. Hopefully it is a permanent change, because that would make us one of the best face-off teams. Feds, Gordon, and Steckel are all above 55%, and Laich is above 50%. Getting Backstrom above 50% next year would be great.

Did anyone listen to Mafki on 980 yesterday?

http://www.stationcaster.com/player....&c=426&f=24261

Listen to the beauty story about Jagr starting at the 6:20 minute mark.

LOL!!!

Jagr "oh no, if I don't play PP, I don't play 5 on 5".

Ref "get your guys out there Bruce"

Cassidy "he won't go out!".

Hilarous...Jagr was such a dick. I hope we read about him being bankrupt someday.

According to the NBC talking heads as they were signing off of the Red Wings/Blackhawks game, Doc said they'll have the Caps/Rangers game Saturday at 1. I guess NBC knew the match up and grabbed it for ratings markets and Ovie.

does anyone know exactly when tonight the schedule comes out? from reading some of the specualtion it now looks like NBC will pick up the Pens game instead of ours and they are thinking it will be a Wed-Fri-Sun-Tues schedule for the caps.

Should be out tonight...not sure if that includes the broadcast schedule, but the game scheduled is supposed to be out tonight.

"Here's what we're hearing for the Rangers-Capitals series.

Game 1 - Wednesday at Washington
Game 2 - Saturday at Washington
Game 3 - April 20 at Madison Square Garden
Game 4 - April 22 at Madison Square Garden
Game 5 (if necessary) April 24 at Washington
Game 6 (if necessary) April 26 at Madison Square Garden
Game 7 (if necessary) April 28 at Washington

This should be confirmed with game times within the hour. As previously noted, Game 2 will be an afternoon game."

LOL, well it's not hard to figure out which match-ups Versus and NBC think will be more entertaining.

So 6 out of 7 of our games will be on Versus/NBC and all 7 of Pittsburgh/Philly will be on national television.

So, did we ever resolve the discussion before? Does this mean Joe B and Locker only get one game of glory, or does it just mean that Versus is going to be blacked out a whole bunch for us over the course of the next 2 weeks?

I heard from someone that the 1st round is covered by both regional networks and Versus.

I hope that is true...since I don't get Versus.

I was watching some highlights from last year(http://capsvideo.com/) and game 1 was on Versus, and TSN but the highlights from that sight are the Comcast guys. So I think Comcast will have the games that Versus covers but not NBC's.

My friend is hoping for the same thing since he doesn't have Versus either.

EDIT: If the Wiz don't get bumped to CSN+ then the Caps will get that channel since the Wiz play their final game at Boston and for quite some time they've been running promos for the game.

That I do know for sure is the case. NBC is NBC only.

****ing Versus however...is another story. I hope CSN gets everything Versus does.

i'm not sure about the DC area, but in my area when the local team was on Versus there was no blackout but they did show a different program (basketball i think).

and i am really looking forward to the sharks v. ducks series. the past 2 games have gotten nasty, so it should be fun.

San Jose / Anaheim, Boston/Montreal, and Pittsburgh/Philly all have the potentially to be seriously nasty. Those teams all really really dislike each other. Should be great.

The Southeast Division champion and No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, Washington will host Game 1, Game 2 and, if necessary, Games 5 and 7 in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series. Each game will be televised locally and in high definition on either Comcast SportsNet or NBC and broadcast on WJFK 106.7 FM in Washington, D.C., and WCBM FOX 1370 AM in Baltimore. Games 2 through 7 have been selected by either NBC or VERSUS to be televised nationally in the U.S., while TSN will broadcast the entire series throughout Canada.
Sounds like CSN is showing them all.

that's how it worked last year, and I don't think it's changed. We should have Joe B and Locker for every game except for the one on NBC.

The 2nd round and beyond though, I believe it gets tricky... but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I guess they redid or repainted the ice Saturday night or Sunday at some point since the Wiz and The Dead are there Monday and Tuesday. I really hope the they don't have to wait until Wednesday, it could be worse than usual.

And I wonder if they'll have the building aired out after The Dead concert?! If people were blazing up for The Stones, you know they'll be doing it for The Dead.

Nice.

Will there be free legal TSN streams for the playoffs? Off their website by any chance? (I am in Canada)

I've always wondered what happens when a team reaches the finals. Does the local commentators get to call the finals games? It seems unfair to have them call every game during the regular season and then not be able to call the Stanley Cup finals.
