was also an owner of the Lightning who, from what I remember, provided a stable influence for them and opened the wallet. A good owner and probably wouldn't hurt to have a couple more like him.

Hard to believe a city could have two quality owners like Ilitch and Davidson...and then there's W.C. Ford.

RIP Sir, RIP.

Atleast he saw 2004, which was a phenominal year for him in terms of professional sports: Pistons, Lightning and Shock all winning.

RIP! He was a great owner for the Pistons and the Lightening when he had them.

The Detroit Free Press had a good article about his career posted online yesterday.
