We looked like we had a breakout there then apparently we ice the puck when we have a wide open passing lane. Seidenberg has been awful.

Well, whoevers matched up against Staal's line isn't doing much better. Ruutu had that one

Samsonov-Brind'Amour-Eaves are terrible match up against Ovechkin-Backtrom-Semin.

Caps got it right putting their big guns against slow munchkins.

Agreed. We need either Cullen or Staal's line to match up with them.

Typical. Just typical. I'm done with this.

Another they can't find on replays. Maybe Cole highsticked someone when he was cross checked to the ice after the play was dead.

Staal took himself out of position with that hit on the PK and then was too slow in getting back.

Yep. He was just lazy there.. just coasting back into the zone when it was obvious they had an odd man rush going.

I love John Forslund. He's great. But, will somebody tell Tripp that the Capitals "bad for sooo long" only have two top 5 picks in the lineup.

Example of terrible chemistry between Corvo and Pits on that PP. Thanks anyways to Whit of course, but jeez.

And you know why he made that hit, too. Cause Ovechkin flattened him seconds earlier. See, that's a positive effect of Ovy making an actual check. I wish some of our forwards would take note (although it's true you can't teach size; maybe our GM will take note?)

big goal for confidence in the 3rd.. they showed good patience not to just give it away to try and get a very short 5 on 3

Not sure what the heck happened in that period. It's great that we remain only down by 1, but that was the sloppiest period from the Canes I've seen in quite some while.

What the heck is with our penalty kill today? The Caps have a good powerplay, no doubt, but some effort on our kill might make it a bit more difficult for them.
