The Leafs announced Saturday that forward Chris DiDomenico has been signed to a three-year entry level contract. The 20-year-old native of Toronto was selected by the Leafs in the sixth round, 164th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Hmm, Marlies in the playoffs? I wouldn't mind seeing him in a game or two for the Leafs this season, why not? Now's a great time.

I was starting to think that they wouldn't, Brian Burke maybe not liking him and all.

He probably won't be playing in the AHL playoffs since his QMJHL team, Drumondville, will most likely be making a run for the Memorial Cup

Good news. I like the way this thing (MLSE) is pointed.

Rau is the only one they actually have to sign this year.

Don't Alex Berry, Jiraj Mikus & Carl Gunnarson have to be signed (if they intend to keep them) as well?

what does this do for Dido right now? Is he now being paid even though he's still in the Q? or does his contract kick in when he plays for the Marlies/Leafs?

good for Chris. I really like the kid but think he's a long shot to have a much of an NHL career.

Great to see Dido get rewarded for a good junior career. He deserves the chance to develope into a solid pro in our system.

Especially as it is emerging that we actually have one.

The marlies will start seeing an influx of young talent rather than older free agents beginning next season.... Hopefully we'll start to see the rewards of some potentially solid drafts in recent years.

I think he gets a signing bonus (10%?) but the contract itself doesn't kick in until he plays for the Marlies/Leafs.

I could be wrong though.

He MIGHT get a signing bonus, which can partially count against the cap immediately if the team wants to...that's why you sign people early

it doesn't matter when you are drafted(1st round ,last round).its what you do after you're drafted that counts. good for you Chris.
