Good lord. Does Ovechkin ever leave the ice? He's worse than Kovalchuk

Bruins fan here. Just wanted to say I am very impressed with Lehtonen tonight and thank you for laying the beating on the Caps.

Perrin

If you are going to have 2-3 shots in a period, make them count.

Really wish they would have tried this "playing for pride" thing earlier in the year.

Wow...great win.

...and I won't sell Lehtonen short. He had an incredible game. Too bad for him that the Caps got the late goal.

A couple of weird facts

The Thrashers are undefeated since my son was born, and since the "fan protest" game.

Stoked with 49 saves though.
New Franchise record win streak. Taking on some TOUGH competition along the way.

Atlanta Thrashers - the only team who's winning streak is longer than their game threads.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lehtonen's last 17 games. 931 SV% - 2.46 GAA
I only saw about half of the game. How did Machacek play? I know he didn't get much ice time, but how's his skating/strength at the NHL level after one game?
Also, I know I say this in every game thread lately, but Enstrom is playing frickin' incredible hockey. Where has he been all year? So glad we got rid of Schneider, because he's really broken out since then.
EDIT: If Lehtonen can play like this next year, I have no complaints with keeping him. Just don't trade Pavelec yet.
This has to be on the top of the list of one of the better Thrashers games in recent memory.
Loved the Kari chant at the end... ( bummer at the SO bid ending),
No matter, this was a dominating effort.
Ovechkin is a disgrace and a baby he tried to take out a few of our players.
I laugh at the people who say Ovechkin is better than Crosby because Crosby is a baby.
I didn't see Machacek too much, but I saw that he made a solid, smart play to get the puck past the center line to force a dump-in/line change after that line was getting gassed in their own zone. Funny that's all i remember, but I was pleased with his decision .
Shoot lets hope that Lehtonen doesn't have to face 50 shots that often!
Ovechkin was clearly very frustrated out there tonight. Most (all?) of his hits were clean, by the letter of the law, but with that borderline edge to them. Can't say I'd be upset to have him on my team, but I thought there was a definite nasty mean streak in him tonight that I didn't like to see.
However, having said that, we shut him out, and picked up our franchise record 6th win in a row. Hell yes!
