Is Tootoo going to Milwaukee?

Or is he injured? He didn't even skate (that I saw) in pregame warmups. I have been hoping (sometimes vocally, sometimes silently) that we would send him down to Milwaukee this year. Could he be on the verge of becoming an Admiral? Or is he just nursing an undisclosed injury?

i think due to the AHL's clear-day on rosters earlier this week, if he was sent to Milwaukee, he couldn't even play. I just don't think he deserves the playing time in Nashville, right now.

Well, IMO Trotz and Poile screwed up royally if they are benching Toots. He's just not going to develop as a player seeing 6 minutes a game with Big Mac on his wing and Arkhi (or whomever) as his center. He should have been sent to Milwaukee a long, long time ago (about the time Trotz and Co. realized he wasn't going to leave the 4th line this year). 20-25 minutes of ice time would do him well. He needs PP, PK, and crucial game situaitons like up 1 with 4 minutes to go, down 1 with 4 minutes to go and overtime. These are situations he might not see for 2 years in Nashville.

i definitely agree, but i think they saw tootoo as dollar signs more than anything. they feared that a lot of people come to games only to see tootoo...and that he still has a lot of drawing power. i don't think they wanted to give that up.

At this point, they might as well keep him up. He can be extremely effective on the fourth line, but I think we all agree that for his development as a player, he needs to be in Milwaukee. Honestly, last night, I would've played Tootoo against Calgary. He's had an impact on them in the past and I think he could've played agitator role that would've shifted Calgary's focus.

So in summary, I think they should play him sporadically for the rest of the year, then have him spend the majority of the year in Milwaukee next season.

Right now (ha!) they're not concentrating on Tootoo's development, they're focused on making the playoffs. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Guys like Stevenson and McKenzie have been in this situation before. Tootoo hasn't. Plus, Jordin still plays a bit undiscplined. Maybe he should have been sent down but with the uncertainty regarding Hartnell they might have hedged their bets and as NMK said it's too late now.

What happens next season is anyone's guess. I don't think that has any bearing on the team right now.

Why can't they do both? Tootoo playing in Milwaukee is just as helpful to the team making the playoffs as him being in the pressbox. In my opinion, they dropped the ball big time. It won't hurt him too much to have him in Milwaukee for all of next season. But I can't help but think that if Tootoo had played atleast half the season in Milwaukee, he'd be a lock for a roster spot in two seasons in a 3rd line role. I'm not so confident now.

I agree with NMK in that this is for publicity right now.

a lot of people would say the same for Belak. I don't really agree because of inactivity this year, but he is definately a good scrapper. He might also be the whitest man alive

Belak couldn't hold Probert\Kocur's jock, and probably not Ray's, either. That guy is a clown. Now that the Leafs have Perrott, I'd ditch Belak ASAP.

Most of those players are in hockey rich markets where they have a touch more hockey commercials than say...Nashville.

Actually in cities where hockey is ingrained and tickets hard to come by there would be less commercials. How many spots do you see selling Titans tickets here?

The Preds are not keeping Jordin on the roster for marketing only, what good does it do them for him to be on the roster but scratched every game?

so they should play him just because he's on the roster? or because he may or may not make a big hit?
