For the forwards anyway, yesterday Gregor said:

19-10-83
12-89-21
85-13-34
18-51-27

I suppose that could change based on today's game day skate, but that's what was used yesterday anyway.

Edit: More on the line combos here.

Time to either put up or shut up. These guys need to show me that they want to be in the post season.

Let's go Oil. Gonna pick up some food colouring after work and have some green beer.

Oilers break out 5-1.

Nice to see Pouliot come back out. actually I don't mind if he is in the line-up just not on the 2nd line. Hopefully Reddox will get the job done on the 3rd line, but I am fairly skeptical.

We really need to unload some plugs from this team in the offseason. Guys like Stortini and Jacques should be playing nightly on the 4th line. I thought I would enver say that about Jacques, but he has looked really good in his two games this year. So I suppose at the very least he should be getting a good look. I also think that Stortini has takent eh next step this season to becoming an everyday 4th liner in this league.

At least give the people there a reason to ****ing cheer this time.

Sick of these ghost town games with 5-6 shots a period.

I agree. I don't hate Pouliot, but I just think they need Reddox's energy. I'm a little worried about Nilsson, Gagner, Kotalik in the defensive zone. Hopefully, MacTavish realizes that and puts them out against the right lines. Hopefully the kids can get Kotalik going offensively though.

By the way, is Jeff Deslauriers ever going to play? Has MacTavish said anything about possibly resting Roloson? I know he has been their MVP all year, but he you can tell that he is getting tired. His last couple of games have not been the same.

I agree, I think JFJ and Stort's are guys you need out on the 4th line every game, toughness, energy and grit...something sorely missing from alot of games this year. I'd be surprised if Penner does anything of note on the 4th line, can't score, can't pass, can't cycle and play the boards, and can't hit. Top 3 lines look good, hope POS brings some scoring to the 1st line at ES. And I hope Kotalik can keep up to the kids and pot some goals. The 3rd line should bring some zip and hopefully create some chances. And the PP and PK can't get any worse so let it rip. That is plan A, plan B is to get hammered and yell obsenities at the TV and watch the Oil piss away another must win game, the hammered part may happen in either case. GO OIL!!!

Yep.

At this point in the season, the Oilers have to hope for a penalty-free game to have a chance at winning.

Our PK is so attrocious, and our PP so impotent, that the only chance we have at victory is 60 minutes of 5 on 5.

Eh... as crappy as our PP has been lately, it's still got a greater chance of scoring (or at least killing time so that the other team doesn't score) then 5 to a side.

Why don't we just stay out of the box?

8-5-1 to a conservative 90 point playoff birth.

I'd be heavily disheartened and I think our chances would fall quite a bit, but I'm not prepared to make go along with that statement with games in hand.

And we all know MY opinion is what counts

I don't know if I know the definition of a "star" but Kariya did have 15pts in the 11 games he played before he got hurt. Pretty decent if you ask me... I would consider Brewer, Kariya and Erik Johnson "stars" that they are missing tonight.

The playoff hunt it officially on tonight, need a huge win. 5-2 Oilers, Hemsky with 3 points...

Im sure those lines will last till the halfway mark of the first period. Then they will be:

85 - 89 - 34

18 - 10 - 21

19 - 13/51 - 83

12 and 27 stapled to the bench.

I don't mind that top six, but it wouldn't be a MacT 2009 lineup without something glaringly stupid about it. In this case that's playing 85 where 27 should be. Actually, playing 85 at all when 78 or even 46 can be reasonably expected to duplicate his performance is a head-scratcher.

I heard a rumor...

MacT has been hearing about the disgruntled fans who do not appreciate the glory day. There will be two additional assistant coaches behind the bench tonight.

Nilsson looked like he was enjoying that just a little too much.

Whatever will be, will be tonight. I just don't want it to be embarrassing. I have a Red Wings fan down the hall that has been reminding me all week that "his team" has over 100 points.

Speaking of odds, what is the over under for the lines being changed by the 10 minute mark of the first period? Apparently on this team, you can be lights out for one period, but have a couple bad shifts, and into the blender you go! And people wonder why no chemistry can be developed....
