O'Thrashers @ O'Penguins Hell Week Continues

Can the Thrashers make it a lucky 7 game winning streak vs. the Pens on St. Patrick's Day?

Can they handle O'Crosby and O'Malkin as well as they did O'vechkin?

Not since the days of Gord "Drop Kick" Murphy and Bob "County" Corkum have I seen such Zdenik Blarney in these parts. However, I think we'll need more than just a little luck of the Irish tonight to win.

If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with 'em. Tonight, we stay with 'em, and we shut them down because we can! Tonight, we are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players -- every one of ya. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time.

Their time -- is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearin' about what a great hockey team the Penguins have. Screw 'em! This is your time!!

Now go out there and take it!

here's to hoping they let down a little tonight after their run of overtime games.

Hedberg in tonight!

Seriously, though, I hope he does well. Hopefully, his reception will be one for the ages, as this is his first time playing there since he was a Penguin.

Hedberg in net means they need to score five without Kovy.

Bogo 1
Enstrom 1
Little 1
Pevs 1
Kozzy 1
Stuart SH gwg

it's doable

For some reason this really made me laugh.

I watched the Atl-Wash game last night. Atl looked impressive.

Thrashers for seventh straight come on!

Evgeni Malkin Pens best scorer is out of the roster with a Illnes, more injuries on p. boucher and M.Zigomanis

Thrashers Has Ilya Kovalchuk still with an upper body injurie but also Ron Hainsey with a bad leg.
pens have won all games against Thrashers this season with 3-2,6-3,3-1 but itīs time to turn things around.

Hope for Pev and Bogo to score 2 each and Little makes it 5-3.

I can't argue with Hedberg being in net. I mean Kari did work his ass off.

You and me both! Used to be, there was always something better for me to be doing instead of watching the game. Now, there's nothing else worth doing. This young team may have helped our older guys find new legs or more energy. The team has also helped me find new life and new reasons to watch the team.

Keep the streak alive, boys! Do it for us!

I'm starting to get that jive too. Wish it wasn't so.

On the other hand, you'd figure if its something more serious they'd put him on IR, but they haven't....

But finally, regardless of what it is, there is absolutely no point for Kovalchuk to risk coming back too early from whatever he's got, and potentially aggrevate the condition beyond easy repair.

When has any team this season said whats wrong with one of their players if it didn't require surgery or an bit of time on IR?

The GMs voted last season to keep injury reports vague for a reason. Kozlov even attempted to keep his off-season surgeries quiet so that no one would target his shoulder or knee in game. Apparently a Russian sports reporter caught a bandaged Kozlov out to dinner, and that's why the info came out.

IMO, the Thrash should keep Kovy out for the rest of the year whether he wants to or not. Even if he recovers, we don't need him coming back and playing with an injury for games that aren't going to get us in the playoffs (Which was quite obviously he did after that dirty Ruutu hit last season).

I am sure Ilya is ok. I have injured both my shoulders and ribs and they take forever to heal. The lingering pain is so annoying after awhile. You cant get comfortable doing anything. Like was said earlier, they are probably being cautious, you dont want to hurt the franchise. If it was something serious I am sure he would be on IR. But I know we can still win with our captain on the sidelines for a little bit, I am soo happy we are showing the NHL what they are in for come next season, with a healthy Ilya.

GO THRASHERS!!!!!!

My prediction:

Thrashers 5
Penguins 3

Goals: Peverley, Little, Bogosian, Salmela, Armstrong

Keep on showing everyone we can win and we can do it now and next season!
