I believe this is the model Green Bay has used for years and Winnipeg in the CFL was also community owned, not sure if it still. Would it work in the NHL? I would think in Canada and the rabid US markets it might but other then that no.

Your kind of right. The president/GM would respond to the board of govenors that are voted on and hired by the fans.
There's a chain of command in everything. Would you really want to play in Montreal knowing that it's even worse than it is now? Not only do you have the sideshow of a media, you also have to go to a podium in front of 100,000 angry fans.

That short dude who is obsessed with expanding the NHL to US and Europe, I don't think he would let it happen.

I look forward to the days we're picking number 1 every year.

If it's managed well it really could work. If not it would be a mess. Barcelona has a really solid team even tho it"s fans owned. It could work here, but if we ask 100k people to vote on should we draft a quebecer over a non quebecer ones, I think result could be scazy.

And we get to trade a player every week, change the coach every month, and change the GM every year.

Why bother, we should just hire Richard Peddie instead of Boivin.

You guys think there are no angry fans in Sevilla, in Spain ?
You all think that here in Montreal, it's worse than elsewhere... but as a matter of fact, European soccer fans are as crazy as here, and even more...
