Either or, I'm not rightly fussed who it would help, I'm curious to know why you think he should be traded to a divisional rival.

Sergei should take D'Agostini or Pacioretty's spot, I know his effort level is high but right now its about results, and when you haven't scored in a quarter of a season its time for a change.

How are you going to get an elite player if they're loafers?

Anyway, let's bring back Sergei and send down Dags...

Until Sergei plays consistently well at the AHL level, he has no business being in the NHL.

Plus as many have said, he shouldn't be brought up before he shows he can stop floating around on the ice between flashes of playing good hockey.
1. Umm, that's pretty much common sense. More shots = less of a chance getting outshot, right? Sergei could bring some offensive output, ergo it could help us in that department.

2. Put the two brothers together, they've shown in the past that they can fly when they're together. Andrei Kostitsyn needs a shot in the arm anyways.

3. Maybe he's "floating" because he shouldn't be in the AHL in the first place! He wasn't managed properly by Carbonneau, hell 90% of the team wasn't managed properly, but now that he's actually catching fire (3 points in 1 game recently) in the AHL he should be back with the big club. I could see him being a little pissed off that he hasn't been called, didn't Bob Gainey promise that he'd be back in March?

LOL You guys are so funny!

Bet you weren't saying that when he was our second best player in the playoffs, get a grip.

Sergei better be back in the lineup by the weekend... he's definitely the spark this team needs right now. He has clearly found his game down in Hamilton so let's bring him back so he has time to get his mojo back on the big club in time for the (fingers-crossed) playoffs.

I'm with Erika 100%!!

Do you mind if I ask what games you've watched him play this year with the Dogs? Cause i've watched him play three games, and he's not playing better at all. If anything, he's playing worse cause he can get away with more.

He's still floating. He's still not moving his feet enough, he's still not engaged in the play, and he's still playing a me-first game.

The only difference I see is that at the AHL level, he can put up points doing that due to his talent level, whereas at the NHL level he can't.

I'm really disappointed in how he's responded to being sent to the AHL despite his near point-per-game output.

With Tangs back, they could have 4 fairly offensive lines.

Tangs-Koivu-AK46
MaxPac-Plek-DAgo
Higs-Laps-Kovy
Lats-Metro-Sergei

Not sure if it would work, but every line could be threat. My lines, however, would be :

MaxPac-Plek-Kovy
Tangs-Koivu-AK46
Lats-Lap-D'Ago
Higs-Metro-Sk74

And OB would be in the lineup for sure... maybe even for Komisarek...
Your "plan" is to sit Mike Komisarek and Tom Kostopolous? Have you ever played hockey out of curiosity?

One person won't change this team around, and of course we want to make the playoffs.

Honestly, I'm getting a little sick and tired of this game.

Keep him in the AHL, he needs to learn the hard way. It takes more than a hot streak to come back.

As much as I'd like to see Sergei in the NHL, it shouldn't happen yet. He needs to become more consistent.
Problem is, you can't bring him up to play on the 4th line, it's not what he does. He HAS to be with scorers, so putting him on the 4th line will only make things worse. The best thing right now is to be a bit more patient with Sergei and let him develop a bit more in Hamilton.

3.5 million $$$ is certainly not enough to fire him up !

When O'byrne got sent down it was cause he needed more confidence and lots of playing time. He played really good in Hamilton and gets called back up.

S.Kost got sent down cause he needed an attitude adjustment and some serious increase in the hard work catagory plus lots of playing time to get his offence back. Ok the Offence is back but the attitude? work ethic? Not sure he is there yet.

In the games I've seen him play in Hamilton there's no question that the work ethic is still a huge issue.

especially one who doesn't show up every game to play.

this kid still needs to mature before he's fully ready for the NHL
