I was leaning towards Antropov, who has quietly been consistenly solid and productive, but then I read Singn's post and I'm going with that.

Which is? I guess I'm missing something.

The larger picture is they got compensated for a prospect they lost (one who was by no means a given to be what many had hoped he would be) with a second round pick. They also traded a second round pick for a guy they are hoping will propel them not just into the playoffs but further than they've been before. If that happens, their second round pick that went to Toronto becomes a later and later pick.

So, they basically got a top six forward and a second round pick for a potentially later 2nd round pick and lost asset.

There's the larger picture.

Yeah I guess it depends how you value Cherepanov. It obviously still has a lot to do with whether or not Antropov stays, what kind of player he is if he does, and what that second round pick turns out to be.

It's also going to be impossible to determine because while Cherepanov was not guaranteed of being anything like any prospect, he damn sure had a great chance.

The value of Cherepanov is nil. He's not alive.

I get that. I'm speaking hypothetically obviously which I understand is worthless since it's not possible.

I'd still rather have Cherry over Antropov and a 2nd rounder. Since we can't, I do understand the value of getting that pick back.

Don't think it's the best acquisition the past few weeks though.

went with Avery, but please ask this agian after the season, and playoffs to be get a better idea of the players impact or the coach. It is just to early to judge.

Excluding the coach, and focusing on the players only. . . Avery. The agitation-factor combined with 100% hustle and Goalscoring = Win.

Antro follows very very close though. Morris another solid pickup.
All in all... the deals we got this season at the Deadline were great imo.
