Main Entry: sar·casm
Etymology: French or Late Latin; French sarcasme, from Late Latin sarcasmos, from Greek sarkasmos, from sarkazein to tear flesh, bite the lips in rage, sneer, from sark-, sarx flesh; probably akin to Avestan thwarəs- to cut
1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2 a: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual b: the use or language of sarcasm
3: a mode of frustration release caused by favorite sports team's bad slumps. Note that this form of sarcasm is the one that needs the least wit.
About the only issue is AKost being put with Kovy again. Can't we swap him and Higgins?
Otherwise, I see nothing wrong with it. These were essentially the lines when the Habs had their excellent start (well -- Lats was on the Koivu line back then, but he's done well with Lapierre and Gainey might be reluctant to bump Higgins down the depth chart just yet). MaxPac and d'Ago get sent down, but they're rookies, and I bet this fourth line sees more ice-time than The Stewart-Metropolit-Kostopoulos combo did.
They're all lines that have worked in the past and have had a chance to create some chemistry, even if they don't work anymore (eg. ATAK).
Man we need a center so badly, hopefully Plek can turn it back up to come close to what a 1st liner center plays like.
With Kovalev on his wing, it won't happen. I know that Lapierre and Higgins are too fast for him, but Kovalev should be playing with those two for the good of the team. Carbonneau was trying to please Kovalev but keeping him with Plekanec, but this has to stop. Plekanec AND Kostitsyn were better when Patioretti was replacing Kovalev.
I have inserted Kovalev's line first just to make him think he belongs to a first line. Kovalev is as usefull to this team as Ribeiro was: only on the PP. I am not saying he should have been traded for a 9th D-man, but I expect him to get less 5-on-5 icetime. For his good and the one of the team.
