I think Johnny Mitchell deserves a

for finishing 10 in the OHL scoring ... That is a great accomplishment..

and Jeremy Williams finished 3rd in goals in the CHL behind Wunderkid Crosby and his Teammate..

I get to watch Sagat first hand this coming week as the Ice play my the Kelowna Rockets.. in the first round of the Playoffs...

Williams most likely, D'Amour and White as well if they are signed.

Love those numbers D'amour put up points, shots, +/-, and lots of penalty minutes as a nasty defence man

The best part is that he still has a year left in the OHL.

Out of all the players born in 1985, the only players to outscore him were Corey Perry and Mike Richards. That's pretty good company to be in.

Mitchell has NHL size and skating ability. Plus he's known as a pretty solid defensive player and has a good attitude.

What's not to like about this kid? I think this time next year he could be one of our top prospects.

I am pretty sure they will sign Jeremey Williams either now or next year, depending on how they view the entire lockout/CBA situation... What do you think is the chance D'Amour will be offered a contract? I'd personally guess he's earned a shot after his season, then again the same could have been said about Nicolas Corbeil last year...

John Mitchell is definitely on the rise. Will be interesting to see how he'll do in the playoffs since he has really gotten hot in the later part of the regular season...

And some big name 1st round picks all in his area ...Sure some missed a few games while off at the WJC, I will give them that ...But ,,

Mike Richards (Phily 1st) just a few points ahead
John is Tied with scoring whiz Pat O' Sullivan
Point ahead or Dan Paille (Buf 1st)

and then when you see Mitchell with 82 points in 65 games and a first rounder like Jeff Carter finish with 66 points in 57 games..

He is in some good company there and he is only 18..Lots of room for improvement..

D'Amour needs to be signed this year as he was a 2002 draftee... But in a recent interview I saw with Barry Trapp he singled out both Dominic and Jeremy Williams for praise on their play this year in comments about the prospect pool.. So if that means anything..

also Williams is 19 and eligible if signed could play in the AHL next year.. but along with Mitchell remain leaf property until June 1st 2005 and Leafs have another full year to decide.. I think Williams success in this year playoffs may determine if he gets signed this year or next..
