What I hate about this tournament is that in my opinion baseball cannot be decided in single game matches.
7 game series are the true test.

As a life-long Yankees fan and huge A-Rod fan, let me tell you this.
He is not very likable outside of his talent.

I have a legit reason to hate K-Rod.
1. The owns the Yankees.
2. He celebrates each strike like he is having a orgasm.

I don't mind it, but I also don't mind it when a team throws high and tight to Jeter or A-Rod because they don't like it.

As a Mets fan this annoys me too...not to mention Oliver Perez's 85-pitch outing for Mexico. I thought they were supposed to have pitch counts?

I understand from a marketing standpoint why they have to have this in March but I hate hate hate the timing. Look at all the players getting hurt. I'd rather do what the NHL does and start the season two weeks earlier and end it two weeks later, shut it down for a month in the middle if they insist on having a 'world championship', which as it is now is a bit erstatz because of all the big names that aren't playing in it (like Santana).

Not particularly, it's just stupid. They use it to decide seeding for the next round when one team goes into the game at 2-0 and another goes in at 2-1. They might as well just give the 2-0 team the pool and forgo the meaningless game if they're going to play an uneven number of games anyway. I guess it's all about trying to bilk every last dollar out of it.

Um, what the hell are you talking about? Maybe last year he WAS, if thats what you mean, but if you would take him this year over any player your are out of your mind.

EDIT: NVM, saw your correction.

Pedroia deserved MVP last year. I know you guys are pissed as Yankee fans, but imo and most peoples opinions, he outplayed Hamilton, Morneau, Youks and K-Rod.

To add to that...

Pedroia:

Hits: 213

Youkilis:

Hits: 168

Yea ok it's close, but I still would have picked Pedro. Can't go wrong with either.

I agree that Youkilis deserved it over Pedroia (I think Morneau deserved to win it though). But this is the MVP - it's not always the player with the best stats.

I hate baseball but...

I'm glad to see Korea (my native land, I guess) in the final. I saw part of the game against Venezuela. I hope Japan progresses as well, for an all-Asian Final of America's Pasttime.
