Since it appears that we don't have a line up of others waiting to start this, here goes... A game that shouldn't ever be in question for the Canes. The all important key is come out strong and get the lead. If we let them get into the game, it'l make our job many times harder... Failboat must needs stay on vacation.
Islanders are playing spoiler now. They are something like 6-2-2 in their last 10. Young kids savoring playing in the NHL and having tons of fun. Those are the hardest teams to face especially when you are the ones fighting for your lives.
Islanders haven't played since Sunday, so for them, it might take the first 20 to get their legs. In that case, that's the time to pounce and get them out before they even get in.
If we carry over the play from Jersey we'll be fine, if not, see Atlanta (2/28).
They desperately need Tavares and are doing everything they can to mess that up. Let's hope Carolina does them a favor and right's this terrible wrong for them.
The Isles are as dangerous a non-playoff team as you can get right now. Not a lot of veteran players and they're statistically eliminated from the playoffs, so they have a bunch of kids playing to make an impression for next season. That said, we're at home, fighting for the post-season, a loss in this game giving that fanbase of master vintners down south optimism is flat out inexcusable.
NYI goes with a goalie who's made two career starts: Peter Mannino. I guess that's a good thing since they've gotten the job done against backups recently.
I've been paying more attention to Gleason lately since you guys have mentioned him not playing as well and I hadn't really noticed it before. From what I've seen, he's been clumsier with the puck. Is that what you guys are talking about?
