He's a lot like Kovalev, he doesn't understand the game too well. But he's still learning, and much more of a team player than Mr. 27. He will actually pass the puck before it's his last option, unlike the other guy. Kovalev is looked upon to be the offensive leader of this team every night and... well... everyone knows how this song goes. I'm just counting down to July 1.

Part of it is him...but the other part is the coaching staff use of him.

You show me which talented player can become an impact player when he's 7th on his team in terms of icetime/per game? You tell me which talented player can become an impact player when he sees an average of 15mins of icetime per game.

I fully believe if they expanded his role, they'd get more results...but they're more interested in making sure guys like Kovalev and Koivu get their icetime instead. Enjoy

Is this a bad time to point out who we could have drafted instead?

... runs away with arms flailing as the AK nerds come armed with the usual garbage.

I agree in part, but ice time has to be earned, it can't just be given away. When he's played well, and you can usually tell when he'll have a good game by his first couple of shifts, he's had the ice-time. Unfortunately for everybody, he has far too many off games.

Can't blame Gainey for sitting him considering he has not been playing well lately. On the other hand, I'd rather see him with Koivu and Tanguay as they had some good moments back in december and for a few games before Tanguay got sick. Higgins can play on the fourth line for all I care.

So who's going to hit now? I thought Akost was our grinder. 5 hits last game, half what the other 17 players did.

Agreed...but I could bring up points in the season where it looked like Akost was ready to take off when he was given more of a important role as opposed to the 'decoy' role he currently employs.

Namely, when Kovalev was sent home for two days...Akost was a DOMINANT player, yet as soon as Kovalev gets back, he's swept aside to make room for the great Kovalev. That's fine, as long as Kovalev proves he's worth it, but yet, since he's returned he's had what? 2 solid games...the rest have been garbage and even worst then Akost...yet there he is, every game, every power play, every 5 on 3, every 4 on 3, OT, shootout.

The coaching staff is rewarding the wrong players

The lack of a number one center.

Seriously, if he was on a team with a brilliant center he would've progressed much further than he has already. Pleks is good but he's developing too.

Imagine how much better this guy could be with a guy like Thornton making passes to him. We don't have a Marc Savard type guy, let alone a Thornton type player and its killed us for years. Not only do we miss out on the superstar points, our younger players don't develop as well as they otherwise might.

AK46 dissapears when her plays with Kovalev.
So does Tomas.
Because they have to wait sooooooooooooo long for AK27 to catch up.

Why can't coaches see that?

Same. Look at my name. He's my favorite player on this team.

But he's been downright horrible the last 10 games. Like, Dagenais horrible. Off-target shots, turnovers, bad passes, weak positioning, etc.

I think the main issue is he seems to have very low self-confidence. Maybe he already does, but having him consult a sports therapist on a regular basis would help him gain that confidence. Because he has incredible talent, but he doesn't seem to realize it.

So stupid at this point, all that's going to happen is A. Kost is going to come back and play with Kovalev our next game and he won't do anything again.

True that AKost was dominant without Kovalev and it's a shame that didn't continue with the return of Kovalev, but I'm more concerned about why....being a big Akost fan, it's quite frustrating to me too but he's got to play better every shift no doubt.

Like I mentionned previously, hope this makes him better.

That's easy...for 2 games while Kovalev was on, you had a guy in AK46 who played without fear or without limitations from the coaching staff, they trusted him in situations where he could excel, and he responded by having 5pts in 2 games...as soon as Kovalev came back, he went back to being the decoy

Will Komi play tomorrow?
He was skating with Dandenault, according to La Presse. Markov/Gorges, Brisebois/Schneider and Hamrlik/O'Byrne were the other pairings...
