Understandable, but if I looked like Andre the Giant like Malkin does I'd scare Ivanans away with my looks alone.

It would have been more fun if Godard was dressed.

Those two would have probably just duked it out right there.

I just watched it like 15 times, I think it was a questionable hit but not suspension worthy by any means.

He didn't exactly "bolt". He skated around and mouthed like the rest of them until Bill Guerin told the guys to go to the locker room.

Malkin probably thought Simmonds was aiming for an open ice hit and just defended himself while Simmonds was skating with his head down, clean hit imo

That happens a lot in the North Side.

Not as long as they first tap their opponent on the shoulder. :sarcasm

I don't think the hit is suspension worthy but it's a cheap one.

seriously. but if the league does see it like a head shot. He is still only a first time offender and will only get one game at the most. It's ****ing ******** still. Next time I hope he gets his monies worth. Give them something real to ***** about. Malkin got run 3 times in that game.

I am thoroughly disappionted with this thread. I couldn't see the whole title so I was hoping it was "Malkin with a cheap shot to Wayne Brady". Would have been a far more interesting discussion. And by discussion I mean ***** fest.

Yeah, I mean what the **** was he gonna do? Stand there and get into a little argument with a team he won't see for a year? If anything, perhaps him skating off like that should be interpreted as levelheadedness? It's not like he started yapping and skated off after confronted. He was confronted, he got some words in, and skated off the ice. The game is over, time to move on.

Simmonds clearly had his head down. This is to be expected when you skate with your head down.

Nothing at all wrong with what Malkin did.

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!!!!!

I must have missed the rule where elbowing is okay if you have your head down.

What a dirty hit. 14 seconds left, up by 3, why do that?

I don't even think it's penalty worthy.

But they do need to get rid of head shots such as this.

But until they do, it's a perfectly legal hit, unfortunately.

Definitely had ill intentions with the hit, but what can you do? Can't penalize him or suspend him because it's a clean hit by the rules.

Because they were playing hockey. Not chess.

Oh give me a break.

Did you miss when Johnson was mugging malkin for a minute straight and then pushed him into the net. No call on that.

Malkin received dirty hits all game.

Malkin wasnt even looking at simmonds, He was lining up a hit and simmonds went low himself and contacted with his head.

Every single game ovechkin has questionable hits that seem to never get brought up.

I guess being the best player in the league you pay a price with everyone trying to making you look bad in the public. Too bad Malkin will keep banging the moms of whomever is talking the smack.

Am I blind, or is there another view? Is that not a clear elbow?

Your point of view is understandable. So is the other point of view that his refusal to be accountable for a cheap shot makes him a p***y.

Looking forward to next year!

Hardly straight-laced by Malkin, but you're nuts if you think there was any intent to elbow him in the face.
Posts like this are hilarious.....didn't you realize the video would most likely be posted?

Seriously why make it sound so obvious that there was no intent when you knew everyone would most likely be able to see the video at some point.

That is a textbook dirty elbow play.....BLATANT intent by Malkin.
