Ducks are getting screwed by the refs a bit. Sharks are lucky to not have been called for a few penalties in the last few minutes.

F the Ducks, what a bunch of classless idiots they have on that team.

Perry and Getzlaf should get suspended for that stuff they pulled out there.

Columbus and the three that can catch the CBJ
6. CBJ (3) 40-29-10 -- 90 (max 96)
7. ANA (2) 41-33-6 -- 88 (max 92) -- LOSE season series points collected tiebreaker; could lose wins tiebreaker, too.
8. NSH (3) 39-32-8 -- 86 (max 92) -- Still possible for NSH to have total wins tiebreaker; we SHOULD have goal differential tiebreaker at season's end.
9. STL (3) 38-31-10 -- 86 (max 92) -- We LOSE season series points collected tiebreaker.

Easiest way to look at it (because I'm brain cramping trying to figure all the scenarios) is Columbus is in with three points, either by collecting three points, OR, Nashville/St. Louis/Anaheim (either one) loses potential points that can reduce what we need. If either one of those two lose Tuesday in regulation, we're in with an OT game against Chicago on Wednesday.

Anaheim doesn't play again until later in the week (Friday/Saturday) so the focus is on our Central Division rivals right now.

MONDAY
Nothing scheduled

TUESDAY
Chicago at Nashville
St. Louis at Phoenix

WEDNESDAY
Columbus at Chicago

THURSDAY
Nashville at Detroit

FRIDAY
Columbus at St. Louis
Nashville at Minnesota
Dallas at Anaheim

SATURDAY
Minnesota at Columbus
Anaheim at Phoenix

SUNDAY
St. Louis at Colorado

Yeah, going after the goalie like that is BS. The refs sucked.

So does this mean that next time Anaheim/SJ play, SJ gets a PP?

I guess Vancouver is playing "scared" too? Or are they taking it easy since they clinched? They're down 4-0 at home to the Avs w/7 minutes left which would be a 3rd loss in a row.

Spare me, seriously. The Sharks were doing every underhanded move they could. A no-call on a face wash right in front of a linesman. More hooking and holding than I've seen allowed in the post-lockout era in the last five minutes of any game.

I get sick of hearing what darlings the Sharks are per the media when their team includes the likes of Claude Lemieux and Jeremy Roenick--yes, virtually the Vienna Boys Choir.

Yes, clearly you are a master of understanding context. Ducks fans were screaming at the refs for their idiocy. And I like how the Ducks are just supposed to lie down and take poor officiating that could cost them the post-season. This from people who cry about the War Room even when they get the calls right.

A face wash is nothing and doesn't mean you go run a goalie, punch him while he's down and then step on him.

It's not a penalty unless it's been called by the refs. If the Ducks were upset that's fine, but trying to jump the Sharks after the game was over shows a lack of class.

The biggest mistake at the end of the game was the none call of Pronger interfering in the high slot, allowing Anaheim to retain possession and keep the puck in the zone. Call that and most likely, none of that stuff happens.

Remember that if Saturday's game becomes the deciding factor in the playoff chase and the refs blow a call. Seriously, welcome to playoff hockey and teams that actually give-a-****. I'm sure you thought it was "classless" when Detroit and Colorado used to brawl too. Spoken like someone whose never played a game that meant something.

Yeah, that was the biggest mistake, not the 2 plus blown interference calls on San Jose, the 2 plus blown holding calls on San Jose, the uncalled high stick on San Jose, etc.

I hope the Jackets get the pleasure of meeting the Sharks in the playoffs this year so you can all tell me what upstanding citizens they are when that series is over. Then again, coming from someone who would pick Mike Tyson for his avatar, you probably will.

Like most fans it had nothing to do with the refs or winning the game. They did not care that they had just lost all they were there for was to see blood. Just like most fans at any arena.

No need for a Ducks fan to go all vitriolic on the CBJ board, Capn.

Don't forget the MLB Extra Innings free preview on inDemand. As has been the case in past years, they also unlocked the NHL channels (since they share them) and you can get some free hockey out of it, too!

I want to add one thing to this:

We are also still alive for the fifth seed, but we can no longer host since current No. 4 Chicago has 97 points and we cap at 96 max.

Calgary hosts the Kings tonight in Game 78, which is their game in hand on us and Vancouver to bring all three of us to 79.

If Calgary wins over L.A., we CANNOT catch Calgary at all, should Calgary not win the Northwest Division. Calgary has the wins tiebreaker should we tie in points (they have 44 and we cap at 43 max), and one more Calgary win OR two more Calgary regulation ties means we can't catch them for fifth.

Now, at the same time, if we want the No. 5 seed and a shot at Chicago again, it may be best to be Pro-Calgary. Calgary and Vancouver square off Tuesday night. If Calgary wins in regulation, and we win Wednesday at Chicago, we have a shot at No. 5, though we still need help.

My guess is one more loss by us of any kind will eliminate us from the No. 5 race and we'll be looking at No. 6 at best.

Of course, we just want to get in at this point, but I'm trying to show all of our seeding options.

The Sabre fans are getting a taste of having the Red Wings visit HSBC. Detroit just scored and it sounded like the Wings where playing in Detroit.

Detroit is only a 3 hour drive via Ontario to Buffalo.

Well, Detroit just finished off Buffalo 4-1 essentially ending their season (the Rangers and Florida would have to collapse and Buffalo win out with all having three games left).

Look for Ruff to be fired, heís out of touch with the tight checking defense of most Western Conference teams. The post lockout game of run and gun is over, especially when you canít beat Osgood.

Now there's Octopi on Buffalo ice...! Wow..

Flames torching the Kings 4-1 in the third. If we want the fifth seed, we have to root Calgary because we have a better shot at it if fighting with Vancouver.

Of course, if we end up the No. 6 in that case, we get Calgary, so who knows what we should root for...
