SCREW THAT! I vote for keeping the Wild as far below the bar as possible. 7th place and a date with San Jose would suit me fine. Or even 8th place, for that matter!

Go Oilers!

Speaking of Philly/Pitts, and reopening and old wound, how in hell was the second Flyers goal good and Manny's flying goal was not? The shot from behind the goalie clearly showed a "distinct kicking motion" with the heel of his skate! I didn't have the sound on, so I don't know what was said about it on the broadcast; but, to me, it certainly was a more obvious "kick" than Manny's!

Sorry, I don't let things go very easily!

That does make sense, but I want to be as high as possible for home ice reasons in possible 2nd and 3rd rounds rounds..

btw, the Wild TV production is top rate.

Wild 1-0 over the Oil, Parma was in the blue paint scum on a PP lose puck that Nolan banged home. It was a play Hitchcock should use for training our guys on how to score goals. An ugly goal that can win games.

Edit: Nolan gets his second goal, 2-0 Wild... Note: veteran players play their best when it counts...

To bad for Ottawa they waited so long to get a new HC...they are good of late but history for the 2008-09 season.

Best in the east next year with 60 shutouts and a .00003 GAA for Leclaire!

I said the same thing...it seemed pretty obvious that he moved the heel of the skate enough to deflect the puck....

Rule says you can deflect the puck with your skate as long as you don't kick it. He turned his skate for the deflection, but he didn't move the skate toward the net. He was skating backward when he turned the skate

I'll bet honest, I thought the motion was Hartnell trying to scoot his way back out of the crease, which, oh by the way, he was in before the puck. Either way.

Edit: Frickin' Anaheim. 'Yotes win that game and I think it's one more team out of he running.

That's the key, it must be kicked. I guess one can direct it but any forward motion that can be defined as a kick would be ruled out.

YIKES. I was kinda thinking that it might be fun to go if I could find a cheap trip and hotel to Vegas, since some friends of mine have been wanting to do a Vegas trip for awhile anyhow.

Nevermind...

It was probably posted at some point in the past few months, but this is hilarious. I wish they could enforce these rules:

That's actually where I read about the link and found it. Didn't start reading Puck Daddy until a few weeks ago. Good stuff.

Most other teams are getting their playoff avatars ready. I know we're not used to having to worry about these, but it may be time.

we need a theme.

i suggest something with "fire" or "sucks" in it.

and nothing with trains, the phallic nature of which i find to be offensive.

I find trains very offensive too.

How about "fireballs suck?"

"There's Hockey in April?"
"It's too hot to wear a jersey"
"Lost Tee Time Opportunities"
"But we're supposed to be on a beach"

"Be gentle; it's our first time."

Or, "Just lie back and think of Columbus."

I'm sure someone less mature than I is going to come along shortly and make a joke about all the people "hopping on" the Believe Train™. Frankly, I am above such crude, childish humor.

Tee hee. Short.
