Suck on that Detroit! 2-2 tie late second, after the Wings blew a PP chance with consecutive penalties to be on the short end of a 4 on 3.

Really, a whole lot of hardworking goals would never happen without that type of contact. I'd hate to watch a game where players were so afraid of touching the goalie that they had to stop their momentum before they got a shot off at the net.
I agree with you completely, but if you watch the goal again, Franzen like does a chest bump with Hiller. It's not like he couldn't have avoided it. He could have and he chose not to and made the contact worse by bumping him on purpose. It wasn't like the force of his move made him accidently run the goalie.

Interesting, learn something new every day. So, they're willing to call it interference after the goal has been scored, but still allow the goal because the interference didn't actually prevent the goalie from making the save. Odd, but what can you do. I guess the on-ice refs thought Franzen's contact was more incidental than anything else.

Goaltender interference seemingly has as many interpretations as there are refs in the league.

As far as the goal allowed and goaltender interference on the same play, it is like the continuation play in basketball.

Has anybody else had audio trouble this entire game? At least FSN Ohio fixes their audio issues...somebody tell Joe Beninati that we either can't hear him or hear him through garbled static.

Not tonight but earlier in the season it was either way too soft or too loud.

What is it with all the late goals in the playoffs this year?

Carolina's down 4-1, which means be sure to be on Versus when the clock hits two minutes to go, 'cause this one ain't over.

The way the Ducks adjusted as the game went on, their special team success and taking the game tied to less than a minute left shows Detroit is not the big bad wolf that played us. They are beatable. I thought the Ducks where going to win it.

Hiller played a great game giving up few rebounds and covering the puck often. The last goal was his worst, had he just stayed set the top corner was the only shot, which would have been very difficult for Lindstom.

How the Ducks ended up as the 8th seed I have no clue, they should take this series to 6 or 7 games.

What really stood out to me was how the Ducks forwards were right on top of the Wings D as they were trying to break out. Much more so than the CBJ. Of course Anaheim can get away with this because they have much better defenseman.

It's only one game but the way Anaheim took the game to them showed me the Blue Jackets have a lot of work to do before winning their first playoff series. Making the playoffs might not be a cake walk either.

Making the playoffs is never a cakewalk. I thought last night's game looked pretty similar in style to Game 4 here.

Anaheim also won a Cup two years ago. Most people counted them out this year, but they still have what it takes. Almost all of the key components from their Cup winning team are still there. It's hard to honestly compare the two. A fairer comparison would be the Jackets game 4 to the Ducks game 1. I didn't get to see the Wings/Ducks game, but I would assume that's a better comparison.

That's definitely one of the big differences. If our wingers got down too low and Detroit manages to clear the puck, it's basically ending up in the back of our net.

I think they go down early on purpose. Canucks up by two early, but then the Hawks score five straight.

Instead of some GM's using the SJ Sharks as a model for building a winning team they should use Chicago.
