Nashville and St. Louis' are worse than ours, I think. Each of them only has 1 home game after tonight and play the rest on the road. Edmonton's is definitely the easiest, though.

Does look like Dallas and LA are both cooked and done, though, and if Minnesota loses tonight they'll be right on the brink.

True. I was basing a little bit of it off of how we play against the opponents we have left.

We do have a tough remaining schedule, I'm hoping for 8 points out of the 14. A win tonight will help. It's essential to at least split the remaining games with Nashville, Chicago and SL. I'm hoping we clinch before the Minnesota game if possible..

But, if the Minnesota game is for our playoff run I'd say it's about 98% sure we will win it.

If it comes down to the Minnesota game to clinch a playoff spot, half of us will be in hospitals getting treatment for mental and emotional disorders. haha

Nashville has two home games remaining. One against you guys and one against the Blackhawks.

We should be ripe for the picking on Tuesday. Arnott and Legwand will still be out, and now Erat is out as well.

To be honest, imo, the roster of Nashville will not decide tuesdays game, it's the Blue Jackets roster that will decide.

I was given permission to make the Sharks board GDT for the Flames game.

If the Flames win, you know why. On a related note, if I disappear, call the police and list anyone from the Sharks board as a suspect!

And we'll all be recalling that poll of Alien Lanes' now on the first page of the "playoff drive" thread. Post from page something...

Another "message-sender" for a potential playoff matchup a la the Flames-CBJ scrum?

As far as schedules go, I looked it up. Seems to me like St Louis might have the easiest route even though they have 5 of 6 on the road (games aren't necessarily in order):

CBJ:
Nash x 2
Chi x 2
STL
Min

Nash:
CBJ x 2
Chi x 2
Det
Min

CHI:
MTL
STL
Nash x 2
CBJ x 2
Det x 2

St Louis:
CHI
DET
DAL
PHX
CBJ
COL

Burrows is such a clown. He's developed into a good player (26 goals this year) and brings a lot of energy, but he just does some things that aren't needed in the game, like pulling a guys hair

A couple other things to mention from that brawl is I'm so tired of people going for takedowns in fights. Eager was already dominating that fight no need to go for that vicious UFC takedown once Bieksa got back up. I'm glad that Bieksa didn't get hurt or that could have been the end of fighting in the NHL.

And why does Eddie O feel the need to scream for a third man in every time Duncan Keith gets in a fight? I understand Keith is their franchise defenseman, but if he drops the gloves he knows the consequences, especially after what Svitov did to him.

This was my first reaction to the video too. I was going to post the exact same thing. A real ***** move by Eager. The NHL needs to make an example of him to stop this take down crap because someone is going to get hurt and it's going to change the game.

I remember the days of Tyler Wright reaching for the bottom of the pants of the other guy to do a wrastling-esque takedown because it was all he had. Good times.

Can't blame him.

If Bieska isn't going to fight him with a tie down, why play within the rules?

Nah, it'll be Claude Noel's fault. Somehow. Or Christian Backman.

Took the words out of my mouth.

First "Somebody's got to get in there, Vandermeer's GOT TO GET IN THERE!" when Svitov laid the smackdown on him, then last night.

I have a different take on that than most. I thought it represented raw emotion. In a real fight, that's what people do--use whatever advantage they can, and quaint little things like honor go out the window. We could really call just about any fight in the NHL a staged fight because, even when it's not something discussed before the puck drops, the two players are still in almost complete control of themselves. That brawl represented a lot more honest emotion than we're used to seeing.

Now, Semin was a different story. It's one thing to try to get a grip on a guy by grabbing whatever is available; it's another to start pounding the drums in the middle of a game.
