How do you lose to Ottawa? I don't wanna hear anything about how they're playing well under the new coach, this is a team you MUST beat.

They dont have anything to play for and havent for quite a while. Boundless energy when you have no pressure on you.

Ottawa's winning goal: Shannon from Gomez and Redden.

Didn't Ottawa have to play at home last night, and then fly to NY for tonight's game?

We are just not good enough...we belong where we are in the standings. An inconsistant team, not enough fire power, and a non-existant power play. we need to get ready for an early exit from the playoffs, if we make it at all. Look forward ot major roster changers this summer.
Good night

Gomez didn't help matters with that brutal turn-over.

The second goal really stunk, can't keep retreating when you have a guy right in front of you. It's not like the guy was carrying speed to the outside or anything. Talking to you Wade. That had nothing to do with fatigue, just dumb.

False. We didn't put any quality shots up. We scored an ugly goal. All shots were in close or ****** point shots.

Obviously, conditioning is an issue with NYR.

Both teams played well. A lot of bounces didn't go for the Rangers. On to Tuesday.

Auld made a nice stop on Naslund at the end of the game. we didnt have many chances but the ones we did he was there to stop them. Hank should have challenged Comrie on the first goal instead of sitting in the net and he should have had the second one, off his arm and in. granted the defense didnt give him any help but i still think Auld outplayed him.

Guys, they weren't tired. They played in the same building in the same city the night before after having three days off.

Also, Ottawa is the one who was playing their 3rd in 4 nights and 4th in 6, plus they had to travel last night to get here today.

To me, that's inexcusable for pro athletes making millions of dollars. i can understand 3 in 4 nights or a day game after a night game, but totally disappearing for almost two periods is a joke.

I understand it happens and I am fine with the loss considering I had them losing in Montreal anyway.

But to me, they just took Ottawa lightly and showed little passion, thinking the game was going to be handed to them.

We put quality shots up... Auld was good. Antropov missed on the breakaway, Callahan hit the post, Drury was wide open in the slot and shot it into the pads, and Naslund wasted a few really nice chances. Rangers had their chances. It's like they did 90% of the work and didn't have enough to finish the last 10%

Coming from an Islander fan, caught the game tonight:

You guys have a solid lineup. There just HAS to be more of a contribution from Gomez, Drury, Redden on a nightly basis.

Wade Redden is such a dumb hockey player. His passes are too soft, his shot is easy to stop and he's so inept at running a powerplay. If he was even HALF of the player he was in Ottawa.. you guys would be that much better.

Just getting Gomez and/or Redden working at half to 3/4 efficiency would make you guys such a hard team to beat in the playoffs.. but these two are just so lascsidasical.

I honestly believe Redden's hockey IQ has dropped over the last 4 years. Maybe it's drugs?

Which is weird, because their chances of making the playoffs are like 1%. Oh well, kudos to them for fighting till the end, but I would have gone for a nicer draft pick if I were them.
