Oilers need this win badly, I hope to see a solid effort through the lineup. Hemsky waking up would be nice too. Most importantly, is MacT going to dress someone to deal with the Boogerman?

This late in the season with a home game for Minn I'd bet Boogie doesn't play.

Knowing Lemaire, this late in the season.... I bet he gets some shifts. Just to see if he can knock some Oilers off their game, if not out of it.

If Grebeshkov is merely "questionable", he'll play. When games are this important, nagging injuries seem to count for less.

Lines will probably be the same, knowing Craig MacTavish. Which is a good thing. When you're finally scoring goals down the entire depth chart, why the hell would you change a thing.

If Grebeshkov is out, Peckam comes in, and he could be the tough guy if MacT wants to dress one. Then maybe we won't need to play Macintyre.

Now that Penner has his legs under him and some confidence, how about these forward lines...

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky
Nilsson-Gagner-Kotalik
O'Sullivan-Cogliano-Pisani
Moreau-Brodziak-Stortini
I don't think there's a need to break up the pens moreau and brodz line. They play well together and can control the puck in the o zone. Hemmer and patty are going to be good together, he's a shooter and hemmer will find him soon enough.
Ride Roli! the old guy is lovin' it!

This is our 3rd game in 4 nights, we play again Tuesday and then Thursday AND Friday as well. I say start JDD.
You have got to be kidding? If anything the game that JDD could start would be against the Wings. Arguably the biggest game of the trip and you want to start the backup that hasn't played in months

I;m sure MacT has chatted with Hemmer so lets see if he can pick up his game. I thought he was turning into a superstar early in the year but he's now back to what he was before...a very good player but not much else.

Cogliano - O'Sullivan - Hemsky (their speed can do some major damage)
Nilsson - Gagner - Kotalik (money in the bank as of late)
Moreau - Horcoff - Pisani (let them deal with Gabby, legit checking/shutdown line)
Penner - Brodziak - Pouliot (might have good offensive success against weak competition)

Powerplay:

Penner - Horcoff - Hemsky
Kotalik Souray

O'Sullivan - Gagner - Nilsson
Grebeshkov Gilbert

Again, why would anyone change the line-up after scoring 12 goals in the last 2 games with the current one.

And by the way, those top-lines would get slaughtered. Hemsky and Cogliano together - holy minus rating and crappy Corsi Batman.

The lines are starting to show a little chemistry and you want to change them all except Gagner's...any reason? You guys can keep writing Horcoff down as the 3rd line C but he's the 1st line C so get over it. The move that would make the most sense is starting JFJ in place of Reddox on Cogliano's line. That way you add size and I think he's a better fit on that line the Stortini, though Stortini is the one who deserves to play. No way you break up the Brodziak line at the moment so Stortini has to sit.

I'm expecting Pouliot or MacIntyre to be in but we'll see. Good thing about dressing Mac is you can double shift whatever winger is playing well or give Hemmer more ice in hopes of getting him going.

Small change. Roll all four lines. Use the Broziak line as the "shut down" line.

Wow, no you can't use those PP units.

Penner - Gagner - Hemsky
Grebeshkov - Souray

O'Sullivan -Horcoff - Nilsson
Kotalik - Gilbert

Why the hell would you talk Grebeshkov off the 1st unit, he's such a great passer.

All this line would do is fish pucks out of their own net against the Wild. Cogs & Hemmer are average on their best nights in their own end. Remember who they are playing and if you don't play a certain way against the Wild they will beat you...no matter who is in their lineup.

You are right Grebs looks good out there but adding Kotalik back there will open up Souray and this PP still revolves around him. Gagner & Hemmer both move the puck well so adding Grebs on the 2nd unit would work as well. I'm fine with either but I would like to see Kotalik & Souray back there to make teams think about just sitting on Souray. Every sense Vish went down Souray has been taken away and neither Grebs or Gilbert will stop that from happening...Kotalik very well could.

because i think it would be nice to get hemsky going again. the 2nd line has been doing all the damage, why not try and get our best player in the mix aswell

The key is to win and not get Hemsky going. Hemmer is good enough to get himself going...so it's about time he actually attempts to do it for a full game.

I think if any Oilers fan or blog made that comment, they'd be laughed all the way down Highway 16 past Sherwood Park.

Wouldn't be so sure. Zidlicky has been handing out goals to the opposition for much of the season. -6 in his last 7 games and had a Staios-at-his-worst like game against New Jersey on Friday.

That is a good point, but I just remember the PP in OT against the Hawks, and though they had the 2 big shots on the point, neither of them could get set up for a decent onetimer, because of the lack of passing. And it's not just Souray, Grebs expands the box with his passing, because he can cross box tape to tape and look at his play to Penner. Plus, having Kotalik on the second unit, gives the Oilers someone with a big shot on the 2nd unit.

Gabby should take it easy, he's a UFA at the end of the season so he shouldn't strain himself. And it would be horrible if he got hit and injured whats left of the spaghetti he calls a groin again.
